@dogmeat yeah I know some consider us as sub-tropic, while others dont.
Depends on how it is done and a bit confusing. Some places are both.
Technically latitude determines the zone. Tropical, subtropical, temperate, cold.
NI NZ is considered mostly subtropical I think, and the SI temperate.
I don't really think Palmy is subtropical for about 355 days of the year but it is. Welly just misses out, but temperate is a stretch most of the time. I've probably just pissed off most of the lower NI.
As @dogmeat says that has nothing to do with the actual temps and weather patterns. Continental and maritime systems are far more relevant but that is why we get the multiple classifications.

@booboo will be happy, it was hot as Hades here yesterday, but it's finally fucking rained a bit and dropped the temps to a much more bearable 30 degrees. It is only 9am though, so plenty of time for that to climb.

@taniwharugby Two different things. There is the geographic lines of latitude and then various Climate Classification systems - Koppen being the most famous.
Trewartha is a modified Koppler system designed to address some anomalies.
Weather is influenced by far more than latitude - water , ocean currents, wind, altitude Himalayas are in the sub-tropic latitudes, Kilimanjaro practically on the equator.
Auckland is the antipodes of southern Spain but no way does it share its climate with Andalucia.
Ironically Central is the closest approximation to the climate of its northern latitudes because it is the closest we have to a continental climate.

@booboo about 15 I'd say, even turned on the bedroom air con a few times already when been high 20's at night, but otherwise fan is on in the bedroom all the time.
I dont think we quite make it into the tropics or sub-tropics like Aus.
Yeah sorry to digress
Comment was more on the ridiculous 28 deg overnight minimum here in Cairns last night, as hinted at by @mariner4life .
BTW Mrs Boo is getting some serious re-education on checking accommodation listings in tropical locales to ensure the whole unit is airconned not just the bedrooms ...
I'll take any further weather discussion elsewhere given @Mn5 is getting all @Stargazer y.

Can't eat shellfish. Have an allergy.
Besides the idea of a two crabs eyes sticking out of some mashed potato is just wrong.

No such thing. Both of your parents, and yourself have to be born in Cornwall before you're proper Cornish.
And your toes must be webbed
