Speaking of Gerard Butler. I watched Angel is Fallen yesterday. Not sure why (weather sucks in Sydney at the moment), I think the other two Fallen movies are utter crap. This is the best of the trilogy, not great, not even good, average but watchable.
The Midnight Sky: George Clooney directed and acted sci fi movie. Better than the reviews it's getting although there are certain parts of the storyline you can actually 100% see where it's going. I would have liked to have seen it on the big screen (it's a Netflix release).
Space walk scene and subsequent interior cinematography as good as it gets.
The rest was cinematic Mogadon.

We bought that for the kids yesterday. All 3 loved it and the 7yr old lad backed up with a 2nd viewing same day with me and the missus.

That’s an excellent point. I wonder if any of our kids are sad enough to follow us on here ? Mine don’t know shit about sport but then again I never let that stop me

daughter and father,
expectations on daughter,
humour and nicely understated romance story during her time in the army, honour, guilt, bravery,
the stuff about Ch'i could have been about the Force,
A woman's place in the world
The action was Crouching Tiger-esque and looked great.Speaking of looking great, Gong Li still looks hawt, even under all that makeup. And loads of other well known Asian stars. You and Jr are missing out

My point was more about how they didn't follow the original, got a bit woke preachy apparently (see @Rancid-Schnitzel and Star Wars) and as such seem to have lost some of the target audience. They're a cynical bunch these post millenials.
Still keen to watch it, eventually, but not if I have to buy Disney.

I think I have but I will rewatch. I imagine the live action remake will be a more mature watch than the cartoon original. I would expect for example that the live action remake of Aladdin might draw similar comparisons. But I'd have to watch that too
