    Gerry Marsden.

Interesting aside about this song which I was surprised by ...

Mum had chosen "You'll Never Walk Alone" for her funeral. Which, with all due respect to Gerry, surprised me as Gerry & The Pacemakers was not her style at all.

So I googled and discovered it was originally from a 1945 Rodgers & Hammerstein musical (which made waaay more sense) called Carousel (which I had barely heard of).

G&TP obviously nailed it with their release which Liverpool has adopted so well.

We used G&TP at the funeral because we couldn't track down a decent recording from the show (without spoken lines being inserted therein).

    RIP Gerry.

    Great song, great show.

Marion Ramsey, who played Laverne Hooks in the Police Academy films.

Away from that role, she was one of the finest stage & Broadway actors of her generations

Longtime home run king Hank Aaron dies at 86

Hank Aaron, known for his sweet swing that carried him to 755 career home runs, which long stood as baseball's golden mark, has died. He was 86.

Hank Aaron was a major figure in American sports, was one of the black pioneers in a white dominated sport, and was the total home run MLB king until Barry Bonds eclipsed him
