@MN5 ha ha gold. But only as things turned out well in the end... aside from that crazy lady speed bump... which was probably still a lot of fun at the time πŸ˜‰

@Paekakboyz no magic elixir bro, just gotta keep going, it does get better, then once you think you got it nailed, something changes and have a whole set of different challenges..TBH, it never really gets easier, just different.

One thing I would say though, whatever happens, dont hold grudges from what you and wife might say in middle of the night while under the influence of baby tiredness, you are on the same team!

@taniwharugby one bit we do have going well is the team parenting. We tend to manage our tiredness/grumpiness pretty well and both know the signs of when it's time to give the other person a break from the kids.
I hear ya though, think you've got a routine going and boom - fucking teeth show up or some other developmental milestone that brings oodles of joy lol.

Mini mariner the first got a phone for Christmas.

Today at work he randomly sent me a text about the harden trade

    It was pretty cool

    Did he have a take?

Cos if he was telling you that the Nets are going all the way now, you need to take him to the driveway/ local hoop, and post him up repeatedly, sweat on him, jump hooks, drop steps, elbows to the face, block his lame ass over and over.

    Got to set a standard.

The boy is the ultimate bandwagon jumper. Loved the warriors. Is now a total lakers boy. And I sledge him mercilessly for it.

His take was like all 12 year old boys. All he sees is 3 great scorers and called it OP

Shit, I'll confess, what is OP?

Cut your lad some slack, he's only 12 - and he is backing a winner in LA....

    SMH

that was no help to me!

Well we've gone from 2 to 3 and it's a way, way bigger adjustment than 1 - 2. We're outnumbered now and that makes lots of things harder as one of us will always have to be watching at least two of the little nutters when we go out. Also looking at our options with cars as we are starting to feel a bit cramped, I'm tempted to get a fucking massive van so we can ride around in comfort instead of trying to cram everything into our wagon. Especially if we want to do any road trips.

Road trips might be all you're doing, wait until you start pricing up those flying holidays with the need for an apartment or interconnecting rooms - families of 5 are expensive!!! I imagine @ACT-Crusader hasn't left his driveway in 15yrs...

On vehicles, we got the CX-9, but even that gets rammed if you're camping for a few days - a mate got a VW 8 seat van (he has 4 kids) and its awesome for throwing shit in.

    edit - congrats!

@No-Quarter fucking eek. Two feels like heaps currently, although there is way less anxiety compared to the arrival of number 1. I hadn't considered the being outnumbered bit, but that makes perfect sense. Once they are mobile shit gets real fast!

Three boys as well so they don't lack for energy, just constant charging around and yelling etc and that's just two of them, once number three is older all hell will break loose.

TBH I love the rough and tumble with them but I think my wife is slowly but surely losing the plot as it begins to down on her that boys are 10x crazier than she ever imagined.

Neighbour has 3 girls. 11, 9 and 8. Reckons he’s on the last part of enjoying life now.

Plenty of vehicle options out there for bigger whanaus these days. Boot space is the biggest thing for us when we do the road trips.

    Thanks mate.

Yeah boot space is key. We have a wagon with a decent boot but the back three seats aren't wide enough to fit three car seats across. It has two little pop up seats in the boot, but then you lose the boot space and it's a mission getting them belted in as you have to put the middle seats down to get into the back seats. That's why we're thinking a big ass van that we can easily load the kids into without compromising boot space.

You must have some sort of mini bus for your clan? πŸ™‚

You are correct. Girls much easier than boys up until a certain age, then just bloody appalling.
