I will clarify, the only people I have heard that even saw it were Blade Runner fans to start with and they all seemed to like how well is has an almost identical vibe as the original, other than the CGI they could have been filmed back to back
but then I know a lot of people who never bothered to see it and maybe they would have seen more faults

I think Blade Runner 2049 probably needs multiple viewings to appreciate it. The first sure did.

Speaking of which I made myself sit through Blade Runner 2049 again. Definitely made a bit more sense and I enjoyed it more. Beautifully shot but still full of flaws......
I'm giving it a rewatch right now... and I'm sure I've watched it twice before, but I swear... I don't remember a single fucking thing about this 'plot'.
I am starting to suspect that on both prior viewings, I got as far as the first Ana de Armas sighting, and then slunk off to bed for a masty, and post-masty nap. -

I don't remember much about the original but I really enjoyed BR2049 at first watch

I actually think 2049 is a better film than the original. I think I've said before on here I think the original is overrated and that I find the tears in the rain scene to be comical.

Richard Jewell was the best new release I've seen for a while. Clint's still got it.
I think got it back is probably more apt, he's a bit hit and miss lately. The Mule and that Paris one were pretty average to shit. But he got to put his boot into evil big govt Feds in Richard Jewell which might explain the increase in quality.

I like a lot of Lynch movies (and original Twin Peaks), but he disappeared too far up his ass on that one.

I’m probably Clints biggest fan in terms of his acting but even I admit some of the stuff he directs is a bit hit or miss.....still, he wasn’t to know Kevin Spacey was a sex pest I guess.

I'm almost alone these days when I say I'm not a Tarantino fan. Struggled to stay awake in so many of his "masterpieces". But, like everything, there is an exception. Pulp Fiction is one of those movies that gets better every single time you watch it. The lines, the delivery, Samuel L at his astonishing best. Best parts are the story with Travolta / Thurman.

Oh please. Django is excellent but nowhere near the ground breaking class of PF. The other 2 are leagues away especially Jackie Brown which I don't rate at all. Reservoir Dogs is miles better than those 2

Yeah PF is probably still number one but again, loved the others I mentioned too. It’s not as straightforward as you think.
Probably right. All those movies have much in common, the great acting, incredible scripts, inherent coolness", awesome soundtracks. I just think the thing that sets PF apart is that it's just so fucking CLEVER. Conceptually it was so unique, when you came out of the cinema you were just "what the fuck did I just see???".
I think the absence of social media helped also, as I had no clue what I was in for. And it probably wasn't until my 2nd or 3rd viewing when I realised how special it was.
