Given these guys are untroubled at the moment, I'm thinking we're headed for a draw with 2 days of mostly wet weather predicted.

Paine can't declare early in case it blows over, and he can't settle for anything under 300 runs as a lead.

Looks like that despite the weather to be honest. A risky declaration looks the only way to make a game of it.

    Still the case.

Aus need to win so how long do they need to get 10 wickets?

Probably an opportunity for Davey to bash himself into form.

    Paine drops another one

Yeeesh, the easiest of his drops too!

India are going at a very old fashioned run rate too. What exactly is their game plan here ?

    Don't lose

It'll be a draw based on the forecast.

If they get lucky, they might only lose an hour or two today and dodge the showers tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see how hard they push for the win. Do they give India a chaseable target and risk losing the series? It may depend on how the pitch plays today. If it's a flat track then they might not be as bold.

India bowling getting the length a bit wrong this morning, though they've drawn a couple of edges.

Or a good slips catch to dismiss him.

Washington has a good leg break that both lefties will need to watch out for.

I hope I’m right. He’s fun to watch. Given I highly doubt we’re gonna see a result we can at least see some entertainment hopefully

This is setting the game up for us here. Another good hour and we can start to think about what sort of target we want to set.

Possibly but you'd think they need to get the run rate up a bit ? currently under 4......

Washington is doing a great job here. Either we try to attack him and get out, or he scuttles our chances of a win through cautious batting.

Have to balance the runs against the clock. If this wicket suddenly turned into a minefield we need enough sessions to bowl them out.

Which on the evidence, is something more than 4 🤔

I'd like to see these two have a crack once they get to 50

You have to be careful though, you don't want to go too hard too early, and suddenly we're 4/120.

It depends a bit on the pitch and the forecast, but I'd think they would look to set a target of 300, and ideally get 20 overs at them before stumps tonight.

@barbarian the delicate balance is, the same 4 bowlers needing to come out again after only a little rest, after a short turnaround, having played every test in the series.

Excellent ball to get Harris. Tricky length and Harris gets caught with his hands up on the bounce.

Cummins in particular looked tired during that first innings.
