Finally watched S2 of The Mandalorian
Overall it was great. Chapter 9 to 15 were excellent. But that last episode...
If that shit had happened in one of the sequels the internet would have exploded in rage.

4 hero's take a cruiser by themselves without raising a sweat. Then when they are fucked the ultimate deus ex machina with thrown in gratuitous nostalgia happens.
Throw in the schmaltzy ending... and the continuity questions immediately thrown up
But it's all fine because the mandalorian is cool...
Personally I don't care, I thought it was cool. But then there isn't much in the SW universe I don't like.

Personally I don't care, I thought it was cool. But then there isn't much in the SW universe I don't like.
I thought it was built up and earned over a few episodes. It was either going be Luke or Ezra, and it was always going be the child going with the Jedi.
They could handle Storm Troopers but not the new battle droids (been plenty examples of these in SW) so that’s fine too.
Its well written adventure IMO. Key is having characters you care about.

If we accept all that I think it just kind of proves you can earn a lot of good will if you do the build up properly
The sequels asked the viewer to forgive a lot but without “earning” it
