I don't thin you'd find people like coutts and spitall doing something like that...but then I don't think they would have offered help (off the water, think all sailors would have helped at the time) like these teams did

Very much the "on the water" distinction. Artemis had a sailor killed in San Fran so it isn't a joke when one of these rocket ships goes tits up.
Getting a team back on it's feet off the water is novel and very cool.

I don't mind a bit of back and forth in the lead up, builds some tension, concentrate on the racing once it all starts though

All the same as motor sport now, in terms of weights, specs, etc. The AC 75 specs are pretty specific but leave room for teams to innovate. All good as I see it. -
