Without doubt.
Then a few days later it'll come out that NZ should have been in the final after all, but by that point it'll disappear from the newswires within seconds, as one of Australia, India or England are crowned Test Champions.
Merely a co-incidence of course, that these 3 are the power brokers. of the world game.

We need at least two of Ind, Eng and Aus to remain below 70.
If Aus fail to win 2 nil or better we're in because, as @Bovidae (I think) pointed out above India and England can't both make 70+.
It's conceivable we finish top, and equally conceivable we finish 3rd.

A drawn India v England series, or Indian win means we play India, and England win means we play England.

Absolutely. The India v England series will also be cancelled or delayed now, which will give the ICC the perfect excuse to "show flexibility in exceptional circumstances" and screw over the BCs.

Well let's hope the ICC doesn't do anything like that. Lightning can't strike twice in the same place can it?
Assuming this goes ahead, how do we manage the series vs England prior? Do we put some players in cotton wool with an eye on the bigger prize? Or so we need all the key guys to play both those tests? I'd think the latter, but jeez it'd be tempting to rotate 15 blokes and then select an XI for the final. Even more fascinating will be who we face. It could end up being three tests vs England but most likely is India winning at home and going thru. Australia can make it but this might require a drawn India vs England series? England at home would be tough. India or Australia in English conditions would be interesting. To be honest, it'd feel slightly hollow if we won without beating Australia given the horrendous pounding they gave us a year ago.

Let the batsman bat in those conditions and I'd look to rotate the bowlers, or at the very least be resting anyone with the smallest niggle.

Would be fantastic, especially if we reamed them - remove any hint that we were lucky to make the final.
However I would reserve the right to roundly condemn the decision makers at NZC and sacrifice their first born to Beelzebub for three generations if it all turned sour and we missed out on the final.

Yep agree. If we didn't win then we'd have lost home and away vs Australia and wouldn't deserve to be in any test championship final anyway.
