@MN5 I have tried no alcohol gin - puke.

It's more expensive coz they make Gin then take the alcohol out.

Turns out the alcohol is the good bit. Go figure.

Good enough for me. Will avoid it like the plague.

@Davesofthunder shipyard ipa zero is also good, as well as the guiness before it was recalled.

Avoid brewdog zeros, leffe zero, peroni zero.

When you really fancy a beer tho due to thirst / heat, Heineken zero is hands down winner.

Is the shipyard one the citrus one? That was the best I tried by a country mile in Jan. The others all had a weird pungent aftertaste.

Disagree about the no alcohol gin. The Seedlip ones are excellent. I found them great to alternate with when having a session on G&Ts. Just as refreshing as a real one, just missing the buzz, but if you have a couple of real ones then one of these then start again you hardly notice.
Drinking isn't all about getting smashed.
Same with the beers. Those 0% ones are worthless. Find something else to drink. But something less than a unit is a good option. Tastes like beer but you'd have to chug them back rapidly to get pissed. If starting on a long arvo/evening they are great to kick off with. Can always have something stronger along the line if you want. 2.5% seems to be the sweet spot.
Fugazi, Croucher, White Mischief, Small wonder, a Three Boys one that I can't remember the name, all excellent.
If you take a rubbish beer (or rather malt liquor) to start then remove the alcohol it removes the only good thing about it.

That makes it even more apt.

Aren't you contradicting yourself here? 0% Gin is worthless. Find something else to drink?

I really love a beer, but sometimes I just don't fancy the alcohol. An ice cold zero satisfies the desire in a way something else won't. I also find that a mid session zero is also quite nice. Each to their own.

But something less than a unit is a good option. Tastes like beer but you'd have to chug them back rapidly to get pissed. If starting on a long arvo/evening they are great to kick off with. Can always have something stronger along the line if you want. 2.5% seems to be the sweet spot.

Not tried any of those 2.5% I get what you are saying though.

    Yeah it was horrible.

I quite like a few Mackeson's on a Sunday (2.5%), go well with movies, snacks and a roast...

@Crucial Fugazi is very drinkable but I don't think a 2.5% beer is a safe driving option. Police say one 4% 335 ml can an hour is maximum to stay under the limit. Drink two Fugazi in hour and you're over the limit.

Ice cold water is my drink. I'd rather have no alcohol than a shabby compromise.

I have never drank a normal beer or lager, I've had a "desperado" not sure which it is but has tequila in and tasted OK.

That is so arbitrary though, a couple of months back I had four pretty strong ( 6-7% ) craft beers over a 90 minute period, I also smashed loads of chicken wings and wedges. My mate drove me home after and got breathalised as is typical leading up to Xmas, he was fine but I asked the cop to test me too for shits and giggs, I blew under. Certainly not a rule I want to live by and fuck taking risks and losing my license as that would seriously impact my life......but the point I'm making is one size doesn't fit all.
