Not a fan of Itoje, but I agree. He seemed the only England player who was up for the challenge - gave 110%.

Great at disruption. But gave away 6 penalties. Overdid it.

A bit over-passionate for sure, but at least he was passionate.

I thought Scottish locks had better of English. Can’t remember last time I thought that.

It was like watching NZ lose.

Had the same feeling. I know the ABs emphasise cool heads under pressure but I have to wonder if a healthy dose of brutal emotion wouldn't have helped drag them back into the game. Only Itoje seemed emotionally invested.

If you're the only one disrupting then that is the risk you run. I'd rather have those penalties than him be ineffective.

On the penalties, I couldn't see what he'd done wrong in the first couple of minutes when he charged down Price's kick and then claimed the loose ball. Any ideas?

It wasn't him, it was his support going straight off his feet at the ruck.

@antipodean Ah. Didn’t notice it. Must have had my eye patch on the wrong eye.

Imagine what an in form All Blacks would do to this England.

I didn’t count one set of phases or even an individual play that England looked remotely likely to score a try.

And if the Scottish 1st 5 didn’t kick front foot ball away so often, the Scots could’ve put even more pressure on.

Well yeah but would you pick any English in a combined side?

@pakman That is my only (v slight) concern. A bit lightweight at lock but with Launchbury out it is what it is. It'll be interesting to see the two team mates, Jonny & Jonny go up against each other.

You were right. Johnny Gray was best lock on day.

    World's best 10 on bench?

All endeavour and zero ambition so far.

    Lydiate off injured, Navidi on.

O'Mahoney with a cheap shot on the prone and trapped Francis.

    Red card

    Can't disagree with the Red.

But think we need to look at ways to ensure a Red doesn't bugger the whole game up.

Total filth from Peter O'Mahony, deserved red card. Not an easy watch this one. Both sides look a bit shit.

Wales endeavour has been shelved since the red, they should be ashamed. They should be taking an even quicker game to Ireland with Navidi on.

Sexton still an egg, clear high tackle and he yells at the ref as the arm goes out for advantage.

It looks like the Wales forwards have been on the same lockdown fitness regime as Billy Vunipola. Unable to rise the tempo against 14. They ran out of puff at the end of that half and their defensive shape was awful.

Henderson for Ryan has really energised Irish go forward.

Wales look worse than England yesterday.

Hope North's score wakes them up.

Change in halfback and waddaya know...

Is Williams the starting halfback? I think he rates Williams a bit too much.
