My niece is bloody atrocious with watching shit seppo sitcoms... she's calling her mother "Mom"... with appropriate ridicule piled on whenever I hear that shit. Her mother still occasionally gives her shit, but like parents everywhere - is too tired most of the time, so just lets it slide.
And "candy" - I'm pretty sure I've heard both her and her brothers refer to "candy". They'll soon learn that using that word automatically means "no lollies for you". In fact, I should escalate it to mean "Uncle Kruse is now going to buy the lollies, and scoff them himself, in front of you". -

Hell yeah - I was in the UK for 13 years, and I have never in my life said 'ice lollies'.
I also pretty much went without chips/chippies for 13 years, because I refused to say the word 'crisps'.Like Cato would have known what that was...
