While Stan work out a solution, both Nine and Rugby Australia executives were thrilled with the audience that tuned in for the Reds’ record-breaking win against the Waratahs. The Herald has learned the match was watched by about 200,000 people across 9Gem and Stan Sport. About 150,000 of those viewers tuned in on Nine’s secondary channel and the other 50,000 watched via Stan’s new streaming arm. Combined, the numbers tripled the total viewership for the corresponding match in the first round last year. -

Got Stan last night. Not bad at all. Even got to watch Beauden Barrett’s first game in Japan. Quite entertaining but the standard is still pretty shit. When the likes of Tevita Li carve up like Lomu then you know it isn’t exactly top drawer.

I was going to mention that. Li looked like a superstar. Defensive ability has some way to go in the Top 14

Friday games are out. Kick off at 4.30, the kids have sport from 5-7.
I might watch the odd saturday game. but kick off times are a bitchwith 2 games a weekend involving NZ teams, there is not a lot of content there.

going to miss tomorrows game live, team from work have decided tomorrow will be the first time we catch up in person for a few drinks...cant really say no, will watch delayed when i get home

yeah, that's what i meant. I need to add another subscription. But i don't see the point for two games a week, one of which i will never get to watch. It's not even really the cost, because isn't it $10 a month?

dude, once that game is done, the chances of me having a couple of hours on say, Sunday morning, to watch that, are fuuucking slim. I already know the score, so the motivation is low

@mariner4life That's fair. I wasn't being condescending - there is a lot of confusion out there of people thinking the games are only live.
It's $20 a month ($10 for base Stan + $10 Stan Sport). Where it works out ok is if somehow you are able balance it out by reducing/removing another subscription (obviously not always possible).

i already have Stan. And yeah, i get that the on-demand thing works. As i say, the biggest issue for me is, i only care about NZ games, and there are 2 of them a week (SRA's biggest issue by a fucking mile). Throw in a 3 hour time difference, and there are a lot of roadblocks.

@mariner4life yep - looking increasingly likely going to have to wait til next year at the earliest for trans-tasman Super games.
