    Behind Her Eyes (Netflix)

    Thriller about a couple who move to London and the husband, a Psychiatrist starts an affair with a chick who also befriends his mentally unstable wife.

    Was a decent watch, only 6 eps so doesnt drag out too much.

    Even though I picked some of the twists, I didnt get the last one until just before it was revealed.

    Yeah just finished that too. Bono’s daughter plays batshit pretty well, not surprising with those genes. The Roger Federer lookalike did his best too. Pretty dumb twist at the end didn’t you think @taniwharugby ?

    Cobra Kai:

    So, um, yeah, I know it's a favourite on the Fern, with many singing it's praises, after all that's the main reason I decided to watch it. But, it's only ok, and it's actually stupid in parts. Note, I'm only referring to S1 as that's as far as I've gone so far.

    :::

    So, my first issue is the continued contrived situations that have to happen to make Johnny and Daniel continue to oppose each other. I can see what they're trying to do, but they just got silly after a while with a pattern of almost getting along and then something happens again to make them face off.

    The character of Robbie suddenly becoming the most important of the teenagers and the "good guy" character. This seemed to just appear out of nowhere. He was given an ok amount of screen time but made little impression and then BAM, all of a sudden he's the character we're supposed to be cheering for? Nope. Also, could they not find an actor with a less punchable face? His stupid side smirk wide eyed look is fucking annoying.

    The opposite of that is the complete flipping of all the Cobra Kai kids personalities in time for the final two episodes so they could be "bad". That was as bad as Anakin turning from good guy Jedi to killing all the younglings in half a scene.

    Added to that Daniel changes personality every few episodes and Johnny has clearly lived under a rock for 30 years and hasn't seen any technology developments (which is weird considering he can install flat screen TVs).

    And lastly, I can't handle Sam's squeaky voice. I know she can't help it but it's the annoying icing on the cake.

    :::

    Maybe my expectations were just too high due to the hype around this show?

    @nepia I enjoyed S2 and S3 more. But expect more of some of the criticisms you noted.

    :::

    I liked how they brought back many of the characters from the movies.

    Is that a spoiler I should or shouldn't read? 🙂

    TBH, I was hoping you'd say the opposite and that they got rid of the criticisms I noted.

    @nepia I don't go into any details in the spoiler.

    My comment was related to who is "good" and who is "bad". Let's just say that it's fluid. 🙂

    I thought it was fun too, in a nostalgic cheesy way. It's been good to revisit a world that captured me as a kid. It is full of holes and it is not going to sweep the award season, but there are plenty of other shows around that take themselves more seriously if that is what you are after.

    It DEFINITELY made me sympathise and relate to Johnny way more than Daniel that’s for sure.

    I think a lot of it is down to how it was spoken about on here. I was just expecting more.

    @mn5 it was a bit silly, but...

    :::

    you knew the Rob was going to be pivotal to the story, seeing he was in love with David, was just how after it was revealed he had, unsurprisingly been thrown down the well.

    As soon as Adele 'swapped' with Louise I knew what had happened previously, then you jump to the scene where Rob & Adele 'swap'

    I wasnt aware there was a supernatural aspect to the series going in.

    Well TFPMMN5 picked it, by the end I just wanted to see what happened and for it to be over.

    My pick next, fucken hard to find anything on Netflix not serial killer related though!

    Well, fuck... I was reading the chat on Cobra Kai, assumed that this post was about that, opened the spoiler... thought “holy shit, that's an angle I never saw... wait, which one was Rob?”
    Then, figured it out, and can only hope I drink enough tonight to erase that spoiler from my feeble brittle mind/memory.

    And actually on Cobra Kai... it's fucking dumb, but well done, and fun.

    :::
    I did find the recurring “suspense” pretty annoying, even by the end of S2. I assume it's going to recur in S3...
    Will they reconcile and become friends, or won't they? Or will some big misunderstanding cause them to become bitter enemies again? Place your bets now....

    So after seeing some of the stuff here about Behind Her Eyes and carefully avoiding the spoilers I started watching it. I then thought I'd check it out on IMDB. They had this in the goofs section:-

    :::

    David has a strong Scottish accent but when he swaps bodies with Adele he lose it.

    :::

    WTF?!

    Well you say that but according to the girls in his office he's "a looker". Like me you are probably harbouring a slight grudge as you know he's going to get across two class looking women.

    There is the 'spritual' swap, but was between Rob & Adele, then Rob (as Adele) & Louise as he was in love with David and this was how he stayed with him.
