You don't say...
Anyway, spoken to Dale lately?

@victor-meldrew I wish I had seen this last week when mine came through the post, so annoyed. Got my speed awareness course booked for an online session in May
Feel like such a loser.

@r-l if it's any consolation I've heard that it's actually quite interesting...

I don't effffffing need one!!!!!
Does it cover road rage? Getting a bit of that lately.

I always remember one story I had read many years back Not long after the first speed cameras were erected in NZ) NZTA had sent a speed camera ticket to a guy.
He thought he'd be funny, and sent them a phot of his cheque for the fine.
They responded in kind with a picture of some handcuffs.
Well played Mr Policeman, well played.

That ticket begs to differ...

I’ve only got one speeding ticket on my record, and that was when my 70+ year old father in law over from the UK borrowed the car and got hit. I coudn’t be bothered sorting it so he paid the fine
I have been onvolved in accidental sonic booms, over speeds and over Gs tho - and you always get caught for those!

Having been on one, I would say the opposite. 4 hours of my life I won’t get back. I did take particular notice though to the statement that you do not pass or fail the course, it is enough that you attend. Consequently when we were all asked to state our major take-away from the course, I stated that next time I’ll just take the points.
Tumbleweed moment with just the odd suppressed snigger.

@machpants see that sounds very cool... Going 35 in a 30 zone is embarrassing.
So tell me more about your sonic booms...
Uniform? -

The most disgusting things I have ever seen swallowed were by pilots
We used to call them "crew meals" (no not the crew, the stuff they called food, although they could be interchangeable depending how much they pissed me off).

And there I was getting all jealous. All is forgiven now about your interlude with the shirtless gay volleyballers.
I quite like the idea of these speed awareness courses that you all seem to have done. I assume they show you how to go faster and not get caught?
Planes are definitely the answer there. Boats are O.K but I did get stopped by a harbour master a year or so back. I didn't agree with him that I was still in the 5kt zone and asked if he was bored with Roger the cabin boy and had nothing else to do. I probably went too far with a comment about Seaman Stains (seagull shit) on his boat after the Roger comment.
TBF he wasn't a Dale (that could become a thing), had a sense of humour, and knew his Captain Pugwash references.

I'm a speed awareness virgin, it will be my first time. And no they want you to go slower, not faster..
