<p>A man was shot by police near Plymouth St and Keith St in Whanganui on Thursday.</p>

<p>Police have revealed a Whanganui man who was shot after allegedly pointing a gun at officers was carrying a replica firearm.</p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><u><strong>Wattie Adolf Kahu</strong></u>, </span>49, limped from the cells into the Whanganui District Court on Wednesday to face several charges.</p>
<p>He is alleged to have used a firearm - described on court documents as an air pistol that looked like a Glock 17​ - to prevent being arrested.</p>
<p>Police have since confirmed it was a replica, and not a real gun.</p>
<p>He is also charged with burglary, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.</p>
<p>The charges were laid in relation to an incident on Thursday morning, when police went to speak to Kahu.</p>
<p>He was not home, but police received information he was at another location and used police dogs to track him.</p>
<p>After being located a short time later on Plymouth St, the man allegedly pointed a gun at police.</p>
<p>Acting Central District Commander Inspector Tania Kura said the man was shot twice, suffering injuries to his head and leg.</p>
<p>In court, defence lawyer Debbie Goodlet​ said Kahu needed more time before entering a plea.</p>

<p>"He cannot enter pleas on the current documentation."</p>
<p>Judge David Cameron remanded Kahu in custody until April.</p>
<p>In connection to the investigation, police are asking for the public's help locating a black mountain-bike left in the area of Bell, Plymouth, Dublin and Niblett Streets on March 24. </p>
<p>They believe the bike was left in the area by the man involved in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.</p>

<p><strong>A Man Was Reported to Police for Farting</strong></p>
<p>A man in Laholm, Hallan County in Sweden was reported to police because he farted after the woman he was with denied to have sex with him.</p>

<p>She reported the incident to the local police saying that his “revenge fart†disturbed her peace of mind.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The man and the woman, whose names were not released to the public, had talked of having sex in a different occasion, but they are not in a relationship. According to the woman, the man visited her in her house with the desire to have sex with her. <em><strong>When she refused to indulge him, he simply farted and left.</strong></em></p>

<p>“It smelled very bad in my flat,†the woman said in her police report.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The police spokesperson said that they had an obligation to check if criminal actions were involved. But the incident was not investigated further. The news just made it to the local papers.</p> -

<p>Thats pretty impressive work there, I see Fairfax have taken on four or five new investigative journalists. Maybe they see the future of print news as more in depth than we are used to out of a paper and more than tv or radio can provide? Rookie error there, always double dip the drumsticks to stop them splitting, and the cookers we used to use it took only 14mins to cook, 1 minute to rack, a minute standing after taking out of the oil and then put it on the trays for the warmer.

<p>I was reading one of kids reading books to them after school yesterday and it was about the Grasshopper and the Ant, I noticed that that in the original version I knew both were male. In the new version the wise ant who saves for winter is a female and the dumbass Grasshopper is a male. Did not bother me much but I did think that if I was a SJW and the situation was reversed it would be a great candidate upon which to throw a tanty over nothing.</p> -
