    I'd add too that this is quite an exciting change in how films could be made. No way you would want to go to a theatre to watch a four hour film.

    But as this is split into six chapters and an epilogue, you could watch this over several days.

    Allows for more complex stories to be told in film, sort of how we are getting ten episode bingable series on Netflex/Disney Plus.

    This is a no compromises version of a film.

    That said, there is a three hour cut of this that could be made, there is a lot of indulgence going on. But I love the extra depth, and time being taking to build characters.

    The first film felt like Superman didn't need anybody else, this version had all the Justice League working together as a team. Wheddon butchered that first version.

    Midway

    Fucking loved this. Splosions n war n shit, but pretty tastefully done and showing the Japanese side as well.

    Mandy Moore suits the 1940s aesthetic like a glove. She is gorgeous.

    No tits.

    is it good? i have sort of avoided because

    Pearl Harbour

    There was already a fucking great Midway movie.

    True.

    I have a memory of trying to watch Pearl Harbour and just thinking that I saw Ben Affleck already in Armageddon so culd stkip it.

    Agreed - in a similar vein, other things I've seen on Prime Video are actually miniseries built from putting 2 films together in that fashion. It makes for a departure from having to cram everything into 2 hours, or need 3 piss breaks for a true epic.

    And sometimes you see a series of 10-13 episodes that is padding out.

    @mariner4life And yes: I thought it was good. A little jarring to see a British actor in the lead trying to pull off a New York accent, but I think he does a good job.

    No tits.

    You make one statement then contradict it in the next sentence. I’m confused

    You're a simple creature.

    Undoubtedly, but gorgeous and no tits together does not compute.

    I meant no tits shown on camera.

    She's still gorgeous.

    Oh right, cheers for clearing that up.

    Yeah I remember her being easy on the eye

    @Kirwan @raznomore

    Could not agree more. Recorded it yesterday, watched it today over many hours and just as you said Kirwan, because it's in Chapters, it made it easier to watch in more than one sitting.

    On the movie itself, wow, I thought it was brilliant. So much better than the Joss floss. Even Superman's lip looked much more natural.

    There was depth in story, depth in character and a plot that made sense.

    @Kirwan, do you know if Snyder has an involvement in the other DC Universe movies due out over the next few years?

    Nothing, unfortunately.

    @kirwan he's made a case. Most people find superman too good and too powerful. The epilogue was fantastic and that movie has to be made. We, the people who are cold on superman get to watch him as a villain and that would fucking rule.

    It’s also the most original and risky take on Batman. It shouldn’t work but it does.

    Is the Snyder cut going to be released on the big screen? Not a fan of Neon and 2.0 sound.

    It’s in the IMAX ratio, so it’s a possibility. I’d like to see it in a theatre

    One advantage of only using footage from before he grew it.

    Really? The first fight scene looked pretty similar to the original

    At the Superman statue? It was longer, and had the stupid Batman joke removed.

    A lot of different dialogue.

    The biggest praise so far...it makes sense. It reminds me to Kingdom of Heaven, famously bad movie on release...but the +3hr directors cut made list of one of the best directors cuts, I honestly believe just because all the little things they removed to make it cinema length...are all the small things that make the big things make sense

    :::

    They actually mention the flash dream sequence! Am I right they didn’t in the original

    @kirwan the best thing they removed was how Mamoa splashed backwards into the water.

    I was going to list a few things but realised it easier just to say it was great, any critiques I have would actually just be about how they could have split out some stuff and made a whole trilogy of movies, worth watching

    :::

    Only other thing I wasn’t sure about was the epilogue, it was great...but I don’t see the point In Setting stuff up they’re not going to follow through on, it’s just a tease
