looking for a movie last night and i realised i have never actually seen Scarface

    So i threw it on

Boy is that movie overrated. Fuck it goes forever, feels like it drags, and yet just jumps forward. It feels like immigrant gets off the boat, immigrant gets in to drug business, I'm the boss now! i'm really rich. and now I'm fucked. Yet it's 3 pretty boring hours.

Whole heaps of some good old fashioned Al Pacino overacting.

Yes it's 40 years old, but other movies of its time did it way better.

@mariner4life I've also never seen it. I think I got up to the stage where they were in a disco or a party or some shit, and realised I'd wasted an hour of my life.

    Better in meme format.

It is interesting to look back at some of the multi-hour epics they made back then, and see people talking about LOTR or The Hobbit being over 2 hours more recently. It has all been done before.

@nta i firmly believe Lawrence of Arabia is the greatest epic ever. Fucking great movie.

LOTR not far behind though. I forgot they were 3 hours long, and the Directors Cuts were 4!!

If you want an Al Pacino playing a Cuban movie then Carlitos Way is the one. That movie is class.

Also stars Sean Penn, John Lieguzamo and a youngish Viggo Mortensen.

I’ve managed to never see a single Godfather Movie. I think the Deer Hunter would be considerably greater if they chopped quite a bit out of it. All of them getting pissed at the Wedding for starters.

Scarface is still good fun to watch every few years.

So many movies that win best picture at the Oscars are utter shit. Most recent I can think of are Monsters Ball and Three Billboards. Both absolutely terrible in my opinion.

I'm not on that train with you, I liked the 3rd film, might have been due to it being the 2nd film I watched back in cinemas again after lockdown, but I enjoyed. Agree on Godfather 3 though.

Watched the first hour of the fanboi-athon (watching it in 4 parts) and as expected, it's really not for me. Snyder just isn't my director. Gal Gadot still looks hot, but the visual effects give me a Star Wars prequel feeling and I assume there was no editor at all on this movie. Oh and the 4:3 is stupid. I can't see what is the point of it.

Will update again when I get round to hour 2. I'm sure you'll all be looking forward to that. 😉

Also Binge has to be the worst app out there. Shat itself three times, although the 3rd time was right on the hour mark so that work perfectly, and after the second time it shit itself it decided that the account wasn't HD, so I had to close it and log back in again for it to remember it was HD.

Provided his ghastly shitcunt of a son isn’t in it there may be a bit of hope it turns out ok.

Pretty hard to think of a fourth movie that was as bad compared to the first three as Crystal Skulls was though.

@mn5 if the plot is good enough then they could make up some new character to go on a treasure hunt..if it needs to be indy then its probably not very good (see crystal skull), should have left it was a trilogy

Yeah I can definitely go for the whole Indy as a mentor thing and have him as a peripheral character.

For an absolute classic trilogy ( and it fucken is, no one denies that ) it has some pretty bland forgettable villains in my opinion. The new film could hopefully rectify that.
