Black and white eyepatch or not, I thinkJonah Lowe had a great game for the Chiefs in the Final, and more generally, a very good SRA season. I'm glad the Chiefs' coaches gave him a good shot at it (starting in most games), and I think he's repaid their trust. It boggles the mind that the Hurricanes never gave him a chance, despite all the signs being there that he could become a good SR player during M10 Cup and preseason. I'm really pleased for him and hope he'll continue to develop into a great SR player! I hope the Chiefs have already re-signed him for the next few seasons.

@stargazer I thought he was a bit underwhelming in the final and probably lacks decent pace for the wing eh, but didn't look out of place and does a fair job. Be interesting to see how he gets on in TT.

Sowakula won't be playing for Moana Pasifika as he is signed for the Chiefs until 2023. He'd be wiser to throw his lot in with Fiji now.

@bovidae Pita Gus Sowakula 1.95m 108kg (at least I'd say). Big lad. But he has a bit of competition now at 8.

Lowe has been a good signing for the Chiefs but I'd like to see him back himself a bit more when he is in space. Maybe as @Bones says, he lacks a little top-end speed.

@bovidae Not sure about lacking top-end speed. He almost caught Nareki - who had a headstart - in the Chiefs v Highlanders game. It's probably more a matter of lacking that explosiveness for the first 10-20 metres, but he's very fast when sprints are longer.

I think that sometimes he tends to like the physicality of smacking into a player to make a ruck with that low driving style similar to his brother.

I'd like to see if we could use him in the midfield at some point - am I wrong in my assumption that his preferred position is 13?

@gt12 Centre was his preferred position when he played 1st XV, and IIRC, his first years for the Magpies. He played both at 13 and on the wing for NZ U20s. The last few years, he's been playing mostly on the wing (both sides), although sometimes ending up at centre when a winger is subbed on for a midfielder.

Reading this there is nothing to prove, or even point to the Chiefs. They were there, not on her floor, and there was noise. Could be any other group, and pobably was just pissed people - some of which maybe rugby supporters, some not. What a surprise for a Sat night in a central city hotel!

In the Stuff player ratings, he was the highest rated back and equal highest rated player in the Chiefs side for the final. I'd like to see the stats for how many rucks he hit, as from my memory it was a lot

Those player ratings can't be taken seriously though. Taukei'aho rated a 5 because he was only given one target in the lineout.

@bovidae Ross is coming along really well. Taukei'aho just needs to sort his throwing. Now we need to re-sign Dmac.

Taukei'aho is still very young (23) so has plenty of time to keep improving.
