That would actually be a sweet book, or at least essay... the true 7 Days of Creation...
Day 1 - God was sober, straight, and enthused - created.... some plant-life, the nice little fishies, some mammals
Day 2 - He was into the groove of things - created... some of the basic insects, same cleverer mammals, some birds and shit. Celebrated with a glass of wine or 2.
Day 3 - Still into it, but feeling a bit tired, and wanting to have some fun with it - created... plants that eat shit - Venus Fly-Trap, etc; some poisonous fishes, insects, whatever... has a few bevvies to take the edge off, and then... celebrate
Day 4 - Feeling a little over it all, but fuck it... let's create... all sorts of shit with camouflage instincts, a subconscious reaction to feeling shit. Shit, that was smart, maybe a couple of whiskies to send me to sleep
Day 5 - Feeling rough, fuck it - let's kick off the day with a wee toot of the sweet Coca I created... then make an Octopus... fuck yeah, then... ahhh... fuck, those mammals are loud... let's get a Candiru in there to fuck that shit up.
Day 6 - Still awake... let's drop a tab, on top of some constant cocaine... and just fuck shit up... a mammal based on me... a real sociopath type, but with opposable thumbs and the ability to just destroy everything else I've created.
Day 7 - rest. Just... let me fucking rest, The fucking snails are hurting my ears. -

Not really. Wife has always had swan plant in the garden for the butterflies, but bloody wasps. Hate those things. One of the reasons that populations of monarchs are falling is wasp infestations.
Ants and spiders will also have a go. -

@taniwharugby My partners place is in a copse of Puriri. Don't see the morepork but hear them. Her bloody cats catch the moths bring them inside and then let them go and are too stupid (rag dolls) to know what to do next. Cue moths flying all round inside the house.
Cool trees - look like they belong in Tom Bombadil's forest with the bonus of attracting keruru

@dogmeat yeah they do look like something that should be in a fantasy world.
I had heard of Puriri Moths before we lived at that place, but never seen one so when we saw them flying about and dead on the deck I had to ask Uncle Google.
Similarly when we had this big ass looking thing flying round our deck, only to find out later it was a Kumara Moth (aka Hummingbird Moth)

@taniwharugby did you post a photo of one ages ago, one is definitely imprinted on my mind, this horrible giant moth. I hate them, even the ones that are about an inch big and flap around in the dark. I'd have spiders over moths anyday.

@r-l pretty much. Sort of a cross between squid and octopus. More flavour than calamari less than octopi. I've had it in Sicily in a tomato based spaghetti dish with their ink. It's nice and meaty with a mild flavour. I've also had it in a Thai noodle salad. You either flash fry it or grill it very quickly or stew it for hours - just like octopus.
