Blues 2021

I see this is GCT's last season with the Blues (probably going to Japan)
Never really rated him until this year. He's been in great form as the senior lock after Tuipulotu got injured.
Previously it looked like him and Goodhue only play well when the Blues are on top. This year GCT put in good performances when other players in the tight five weren't at their best
Hopefully this makes Pierce want to stay and Darry adds some bulk

@duluth I wonder who else is in the pipeline? These were the U20 locks:
James Brown (Auckland), Allan Craig (Northland), Josh Beehre (Auckland)
@tim of those I've heard the latter has most potential (is a Northlander too)

@taniwharugby, I first saw Josh Beehre live at a sevens tournament in late 2019, was impressed with his physicality and was a tad surprised Northland we’re not all over him , like Anton Stegner has a German heritage, hope I am wrong , but i see more potential in him than Allan Craig , stand to be corrected ..
The Blues will be looking for 2 locks next season as I think I may posted about a month back Patrick Tuipulotu is heading off to Japan on a sabbatical next year . -

@kirwan yea seems a good guy and always good when players haven't followed traditional pathways too.

I did laugh seeing Robinson walking around on Stadium Waikato in bare feet before the Blues game against the Chiefs. Old school.

Now I understand why they don't try Sullivan at 10. He can actually kick the ball quite far. Not the Blues style at all..
Jokes aside, 15 is one of the most competitive spots for higher honours.. -

@nostrildamus he's 20 years old with 3 Super caps under his belt - higher honours can wait a while - easing him in to Super Rugby at 15 is a smart move.
