@kiwipie it did, the last one that people went off on, I wasnt bothered by it.

And in other news (I suspect this is mostly American fans, there are some right nutters on the PGA pages hate for de Chambeau, hate for Koepka, for Reed, for the PGA after they pulled an event from Trumps course)

Is he allowed to move dead foliage, or is courting trouble by fiddling so close to the ball?

FFS he’s hardly geriatric at 50.

Barely any physical disadvantage and experience wise he wins.
The only non injury reason other older guys stop winning is because they get comfortable, rich and lazy

Yeah, it was telling when Phil had the longest drive of the day. Does age mean anything in golf?

It was an odd final round, neither Brooks nor Louis really fired a shot, and Mickelson could afford to play within himself down the stretch.

As such there wasn't really a 'moment'. It was just solid play from Phil while his challengers kept making mistakes.

Yeah, it was rather odd. Koepka made so many mistakes, it's amazing he ended up even close.

@siam you can move dead foliage, but if the ball moves, you incur a penalty

Not as much as other sports. Phil might be a little slimmer these days, but he hardly looks like he works out. He is fit and well, unlike Tiger with his bad back (pre-accident Tiger I mean). A lot of it is mental, he seems to really enjoy competing

@tim did you hear what Bryson was saying?

Was odd it sounded like he had metal spikes on, I thought everyone was all soft spikes?

Bit amusing really as I think plenty think he is a bit of a douche too!

@voodoo I did a google yesterday trying to find out what the comments might be. Couldn't find anything but there were plenty of links suggesting bad blood going back a few years.

Am wondering if this is all a bit scripted.

They'd be a great pairing for the Ryder Cup though

Devastating for John Rahm. Way out in front and even a hole in one, but has to withdraw after testing positive for Covid.

Ok fellas, I need help. I have been a very occasional golfer at times, just hack around a few holes at times with mates. Never got close to 100 for 18 holes (probably only tried a couple of times, and nowhere near 50 on 9 holes. I have a set of Cleveland HB3 irons, about 15 years old.
So now I retired and getting older and slower I decided I might try a bit of golf, joined a local club (Eltham) just a small country club. They have a 9 hole haggle on mid week which suits me at this stage etc. Thing is I tempted to get some new clubs, the ones I got now don't quite feel right, ( they almost look like hybrids) and while in gold warehouse salesman reckoned a set of GWX Platinum men series would do me nicely. thay seem pretty flexible graphite shafts, but becuase they had a few trying clubs I didn't get a chance to try them. Anyon got any advice etc, I don't want to spend a fortune and at 67 , I not going to play forever, and swing speed certainly not going to increase.
