A bit naff from Nicholls. Not sure if that shot is a strength of his. Good bouncer though

Of the 9 best batting averages in this game, eight are from New Zealand batsman and the other belongs to Joe Root. Devon Conway is 164 not out in his first test innings so he doesn't have a test average yet.

CDG has the highest SR of current test players and has had since his debut. The English commentary I'm listening to really rates the NZ batting line up including Southee's ability to score quickly.

I am hoping if we're still batting last session of today there could be some big hitting fireworks

Wagner should be at 10 instead of Southee

England have dragged themselves back in this game. Not enough support for Conway from the more experienced NZ batsmen.

Big Col only ever looks good going fast. Not sure if it's the pitch or ball to suit that style of batting... All the best bighouse

I was puzzled by the rush to get the injured mullet back into the side. CDG better perform with the ball, given Matt Henry or last test centurion Daryl Mitchell were other options.

And Kyle Jamieson is well and truly filling that bowling all rounder slot these days.

Wouldn’t be NZ cricket without a collapse. The good ol’ times are back!

Conway a decent chance to carry his bat at this rate.

I'd forgotten the disdain I have for him in white. Really really fond of him in black though!

Poms are up and about. Test cricket eh? 24 hours of smug contentment, half an hour later, a familiar dread of unfulfilled potential
    🙂

@siam In the greater scheme of things, I'm inclined to think Santnav making no runs is no bad thing.

Let's see if he can earn his place with his bowling.

But, FFS guys...we nearly had this.
