"Midnight Sax" should be a music genre. Any song that employs the "flicking the reed" technique is in.

It should be the name of an instrument too.

"Hey man, you play Alto Sax?"
"Buddy, I play MIDNIGHT Sax."
-

I think it is a shame that Violence is ok but sex isn't in terms of humans (Not talking about kids)

Reading through this thread, I was just thinking exactly the same thing. It is the most fucked up thing in the world that American movies don't blink at violence or multiple people being shot/decapitated/blown up, but baulk completely at a nipple. Or those laughable sex scenes where women wear bras to bed. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. No woman in the world wears a fucking bra to bed.

I don't get the weirdo puritan stance. I know some might say they are 'protecting' women, but looking at rape/sexual assault/stalking/teen pregnancy stats, that sure as shit hasn't worked, now has it.
-

the thing is, for all that gratuitous violence we are talking about, you don't see any real consaquence of it, it's bloodless. Aiming for that PG-13 means fuckers can get shot, but bloodlessly. You can root, but no titties.

It's all about money mother fuckers. Lets just hope Deadpool making a fuck-load has changed a few attitudes
-

nothing screams 80s music like electric drums and sax.

Combine the 2 and you have nearly every movie soundtrack for a decade (and jamaican steel drums too)

None better illustrated than the music during Commando ( not "Fight for love" by Power Station which fucken rocks, what a group they were )......also why use a bass guitar when the low keys of an 80s synth did just as well ?

"The Heat is on" by Glenn Frey...."Careless Whisper" by George Michael.....the aforementioned Tim Cappello.......anyone else reckon the 20's might see a resurgence of the sax ? after all "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars sounds like a song that Prince or the Time couldn't be fucked recording during Purple Rain.....
-

The interesting thing is that the quintessential 80's soundtrack hit didn't have any sax at all. It was just that good.

Shakedown, breakdown honey
Peak of western civilisation right fucking there.

No sax but enough gratuitous 80's synth/piano to sink a battleship.....

Tough to say which Beverly Hills Cop song is the best ( first movie is way better as is often the case )

Bob rocked those blue blockers didn't he ?

The moonlighting theme by Al Jarreau had some sweet sax.......as did the Ghostbusters theme
-

i unashamedly love me some Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band

-

holy shit that's a disgrace. Shakedown was his only #1 single!

Yeah might well give that a hoon Tim. Just Googled it, they mention Kenny Loggins, Boz Scaggs and Toto, huge fan of their work too. "Soft rock" is a fucken horrific term but there's no doubting all those groups did some fantastic, timeless work.
-

Here's the playlist, takes a couple of episodes to find its feet.

Their new podcast, Beyond Yacht Rock, is fucking ace. The sultry rock hits and divorce-core episodes especially.

<strike>Porn writ</strike>, um <strike>sex writ</strike>, um love stories for women writer? Doesn't get the US weirdo puritan stance?TBF, I don't think many people do. It's a weird place at times the US.

Although I did have a girlfriend who would often fall asleep with her bra on when she was pissed. It was doubly frustrating.
-
