In what should be a slap in the face of the vic-centric AFL, the Dreamtime game between two Victorian sides that had to be moved to Perth, has sold out already, without any travelling fans.

Look AFL House, your comp really is national, stop basing every fucking decision around Melbourne.

That will be a pretty cool atmosphere on Saturday night, and if recent form is anything to go by, it should be a bloody good game too.

Feisty start to the Dees vs Lions game. James Brayshaw is hands down one of my favourite commentators in any sport.

I hate that a goal that hits the posts on the way in is only given as a behind.

@shark congrats bro, 3 for 3 with the Dees, Saders and Suns winning.

When the Dees were put under pressure by the Lions, they turned it around and showed some steel. Excellent win.

Yeah, sadly I nodded off around quarter time. At that stage I think it was close. I was stoked to wake up and see we'd won by 20 odd.

              Demons are really good.

At half time I was feeling good, we were 20 up, playing well, and had a plan that was making Melbourne uncomfortable

Great coaching performance to completely change the game at half.time. demons adjusted their positioning, got their intercepting defenders in position and started picking us off. After that their ball movement and numbers were amazing and we were run off our feet. We had given up with half a quarter to go

Petracca is the best player in the comp. I was gets fucked off with how often after an intercept mark inside the demons 50 they would find him all alone just outside the arc in the corridor to completely open the field

Melbourne are set up for.finals. which new assistant coach is making Goodwin look.good?

it will be a bloodbath, or Collingwood will turn it in to an unwatchable slog to keep it close

                    not one for the neutrals

@mariner4life it's more the timing that I'm excited about. Friday night games starting at 9.30 after a busy week, battling the kids and a couple of beers aren't conducive to fully engaged viewing experiences (in other words I can't stay awake) and I've now had two of them in a row. Hopefully we do put Collingwood to the sword, and I can watch it whilst cooking dinner and let wifey do the kid shit.

Another week of piling on Carlton after yet another loss. And it was the first really insipid loss of the season, so it's entirely deserved.

It's the same shit every week - not fit enough, and not active enough in defence. Hard to win games when you decline to score points in the 4th quarter, and also leave blokes wide open in their forward 50. Why they haven't done anything to even look like they are trying to fix it is beyond me.

of course the coach is in the gun, because one thing they haven't tried is replacing the coach...

@mariner4life Oh of course. But frankly if they keep losing the same way every week the coach SHOULD be in the gun because clearly it's a system problem as much as a personnel problem.

I'm not a 'sack the coach' guy generally, but I do subscribe to the theory that he could well go at the end of the season if there is no discernible improvement. That said Carlton's draw is much easier in the back end so I think that will happen.

Hawthorn in to the bottom two, and here come Richmond sniffing around their best player...

They're a bloody good outfit Richmond, the change in that club over the last decade is incredible. Getting in a guy like Tom Mitchell will really help them stay at the top for a few more years yet.

This will be a trade that helps both sides, Hawthorn need to start again, and therefore need draft picks. Yes they'll suck even more without Mitchell getting a heap of the ball, but they need that pain i think.

I would absolutely give up coaching that dogshit Pies roster to spend more time nekkid with that.

This is not pretty to watch. Up in Cairns where it’s wet and humid and if the ball doesn’t find the hand it’s a mess.
