Reading through this thread, I was just thinking exactly the same thing. It is the most fucked up thing in the world that American movies don't blink at violence or multiple people being shot/decapitated/blown up, but baulk completely at a nipple. Or those laughable sex scenes where women wear bras to bed. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. No woman in the world wears a fucking bra to bed.
 
I don't get the weirdo puritan stance. I know some might say they are 'protecting' women, but looking at rape/sexual assault/stalking/teen pregnancy stats, that sure as shit hasn't worked, now has it.

It certainly has the on-the-nose lyrics required of an 80s movie soundtrack.
"It's a given, L.A. law someone's faster on the draw"... and of course the entire chorus about taking down and busting people.
 
I've always been partial to Burning Hearts from Rocky 4 because of the "Is it East versus West or man against man" line. Rocky 4 has my favourite training montage too.

Although apparently it got some criticism because "History repeats itself" doesn't apply to this story (was originally supposed to be the song for Rock 3)

Didn't know that, but just looked her up on Wiki and apparently she did the theme song from Friends too. I should have known who Allee Willis is because she appears to be an icon of three of my favourite guilty pleasures: 70s funk, cheesy 80s movie themes and 90s sitcoms.

I remember doing the title track in music class at school. twenty something xylophones all in "unison" and every bit as horrific as you'd imagine.
 
Ha, good old Joe Esposito, shame he didn't come back for the second one cos that cheesefest from Peter Cetera didn't inspire me to learn Karate like the original did.

However he is also the guy that ruined two really good bands (Simnple Minds and Psychedelic Furs) with shit songs, wrote for Kajagoogoo and (as the real pointer as to why Tim knows all about him) contributed to this album
