What the hell was that penalty for? The epitome of a ticky tack penalty, the Storm don't need that kind of help and turn it into a try

The Warriors can’t keep up with sides that are quick and tend to play to narrow. Must move with the times and move the ball to the edges more often.

We finally score but it's the first thing we've done well today. Just being dominated by Melbourne who haven't got.out of 3rd gear all arvo

Good finish by Ken. Have to say that it’s a surprise he is leaving. Classic big winger. Maybe lacks some outright speed but not too bad and very big. Not sure any of the the replacements offer more? Thought he had been quite effective this year.

Understand the desire to change how the Warriors play, but they looked off the pace again today - not taking the ball to the edges early coming out from their half, slow to move the ball when on attack, physically dominated, struggled with pace of game.

Boyd Cordner finally announces he is retiring immediately. Too many head knocks.

Good, massively underrated player. Did an enormous amount of shit work for every team he played for. Ran beautiful lines (often ones that would be good for the team, but bad for him).

Roosters have lost 3 guys to early retirement this season!

Will the last NZer at the Warriors please turn out the lights?

Maybe we'll start winning stuff then....

Just support the Storm or Roosters then?

Just being glib. I'm sure we will have a fair few kiwi players

At the Storm, yeah definitely. 😉

The Warriors have shed a lot of NZ players under the new regime, and they mostly get replaced by Aussies. I'm on record as not wanting to watch a franchise made up of Aussies. I may as well just support a Sydney team if that was the case. If only Glebe and Sydney Uni were still in the comp.

Well, this is what you get for saying dumb shit like this

It's reported they are signing absolute spud DWZ from the Dogs

If it's for.any more than a can of coke and a pie each game then we are getting screwed over.

The Dogs are awful and yet their fans are still happy to see him go. That should say everything

DWZ is just one, apparently Warriors have also tabled an offer to “I can’t tackle” Dufty as well… I just don’t get it…

So Maumalo didn't want to leave and his management is pissed off that the Warriors have framed it as Ken asking for a release.

"I was disappointed with how the club framed it," Maumalo's manager Stan Martin has told Newshub.
"They said Ken asked for a release - that's not how it happened.
"He didn't want to leave. I was told Ken wouldn't be there next year, so we went and found a club and then asked for a release.
    "He was forced out."

you could see at fulltime it wasn't his call really.

i am not disappointed by the move given the form over a long period of time (Sunday was a throwback, he was actually really good). I am disappointed in the replacement (unless cheap)

Dufty is a good player but do we need him? i assume they are already moving Walsh in to 6?

The Dragons have made a smart football decision, and have told Corey Norman to fuck entirely off. They were paying that spud $800k to suck.

Word is there isn't a club that wants him at half the money. Hello Super League.

yeah I agree, Ken moving on is best for him and the club, he had lost his mojo in the last 12 months for the club and hopefully he can find it again at the Tigers, sometimes it takes a move to help that happen.

Given Walsh is meant to be a FB, then I only see him at 6 if Dufty comes, if they potentially also pick up DWZ then I am guessing his future is wing primarily, but if injury occurs FB and centre, but I am hoping it is on a significantly reduced rate

Returning to NZ because of covid didn't help his cause. The same for Fusitu'a.

Maumalo named to start for the Tigers this week.

He'll get the chance to get thrashed by the Storm two weeks in a row.

If Ken starts trusting his tigers centre to take his own man I will stop supporting the warriors.

Here is a better rumour for the day

St George Illawarra has reportedly given its blessing to former Dragons playmaker Gareth Widdop to return to the NRL with a rival club. Widdop was released by the Red V from the final two years of his contract at the end of 2019, but the club had a stipulation he could not return from England to play for a rival. The five-eighth now appears on the verge of leaving Super League club Warrington, and joining either the Raiders or Warriors immediately. Multiple media outlets have reported the Dragons have told Widdop’s manager they will not block any contract with another NRL club, clearing what was the last obstacle to his return to Australia.

Canberra is on the lookout for a halfback after releasing George Williams mid-season, while the Warriors have lost young playmaker Chanel Harris-Tavita to injury and they are skinny in the halves department.

If the Warriors score Widdop that is a serious pick up

    really good player, very steady.

In a market where there are some seriously flaky but expensive halves floating around, Widdop is the guy you pick up.

I don't won't Widdop. He's a great player it's just he's not what we need. We need a player that will buy into NZ. Widdop wants to be in Australia. While the warriors are in covid times he probably works out. But long term he'll just want to go back to the weather and the women of Australia.

I fear Widdop will be another Green, a guy whose body can't keep up with his brain. We're not going to get the good version of Widdop.
