Six and out the story of Jamieson and Southee.

A lead of 36 would have made for some interesting Adelaide sledges.

I have advantage us at the moment, just. India will have to bat out of their skins to set us something and have time to bowl us out as well. On the flip side, a couple of early wickets would put the shits up them big time.

Southee did more than what was asked of him. Good man.

Great cameo from Tim. Off to bed now, hopefully he can parlay that 30 with the bat into a match winning bowling spell while I'm asleep ๐Ÿ˜ด

I think that 32 run lead is invaluable - because they will have to bat very carefully for at least their first 80 runs. Even with a somewhat extended session tonight (if we get it). The more wickets we can get, the longer they'll have to bat cautiously.

Atherton is pointing out - it's going to be very hard for India to set us a target that gives them a chance - because if they can score freely they'll need more runs - and their seamers are knackered.

              Draw most likely.

Them collapsing to let us win next.

Them getting bowled out cheaply and us collapsing after that!

So lead of 32, should have been 30-40 more in my opinion if we'd shown any sign of intent in the morning. Lead of 70 is a very different proposition to a lead of 32.

Horrifically hard conditions this morning for batting, it has gotten considerably easier it seems. Still everything to play for.

Still infuriated with the fucking neutral coverage. If you just listened to the comm's an never heard the score, you'd currently estimate India at 650/10, and NZ all out for 125 in the easiest possible batting conditions. The magnificence of Kohli's captaincy and Shami's bowling what has given India such a powerful position given that NZ were batting on a concrete pitch in summer heat with no humidity.

In all seriousness, I think the power is with India. A full session tonight will see them a fair bit of ahead in NZ in runs, and if they can keep it to less than 3 down, then they have a real opportunity to take it away from us completely. Perhaps get a 150 lead and try and bowl us out in a session.

@majorrage They've got to bat three sessions and bowl us out in one?

That doesn't sound like the power is with them.

However, while we're anxiously sitting here with a modest lead of 32, spare a thought for our friend @newsjunkie, who's going to be behind his sofa sweating on his fear of 20/4! ๐Ÿ™‚

The power is with them as its likely the conditions now are as good as they are going to be.

The draw is still most likely, of course.

Yeah, the (lack of) knowledge you've have to have on Kane to suggest that is astounding.

Haaaa I've just sat down to watch this session and was coming on to comment on that. India are pretty amazing innit? Noticeable how earlier with NZ batting it was all about how great the Indian captaincy has been. Now it's about how this new opening batter is going to be the best in the world.

That's probably the best boundary we'll see all year.

                              Until the next boundary.

God he has a beautiful leaving technique though. One of the best leaves I've seen, but just to the wrong ball. Unlucky.

One more wicket at least today boys and it is all to play for tomorrow.

Southee gets one to absolutely rear, take the glove and helmet - flies over the slip cordon for four... Kholi off the mark.

The good news is Kohli has to start all over again tomorrow. Wasn't out there long enough to be 'in'.
