May as well keep the subject going til the day starts…..

I’m shocked Beefy Botham isn’t there. I remember highlights of him smoking some huge sixes ( and remember it was a lot tougher with bigger boundaries and less meaty bats in his day ).

Not surprised his mate Viv is there though.

EDIT: cricinfo has Beefy with 67 sixes out of 8565 balls faced, he just misses out.

Some old timer from back in the day only managed to hit six in his entire career. Bradman or someone, he must have been shit.

@mn5 Bradman was a disciple of hitting the ball along the ground and his technique was to turn his wrists accordingly. Tried to take the outfield catch away from the equation.

Absolutely. I’m fairly sure I read somewhere that he still managed to score pretty quickly while virtually never hitting it in the air.

Geees 1 day to play in the world test final and if I was Kane I'd try have a quick chat to Kohli and see if he's up to try get a result and find a winner

Tell him India can bat through to tea (assuming they make it that far) and then declare. In return the black caos will have a crack at whatever they can muster - and take it right to thru to dark too. If no declaration then kohli obviously is happy with a draw, so I wouldnt even come back after tea if no declaration

It’s a tough one alright but getting a result ( and I think both teams are too skilled and experienced to have any major fuck ups ) looks so unlikely. India will have to bat bloody quickly to get close to a defendable total and then what ? Are their bowlers as tired as some claim ?

I think every grand plan the fern has come up with has failed so far🙂

I say we let test cricket naturally serve up it's twists and turns, and be the great game it is. Just buckle up behind the couch and go along for the ride.

Enough meddling you bloody control freaks!😁

We're a part of history here people!

@shark when your junkie flake of a teenage kid finally does something decent, gets a job and enrolls in night school, a grateful father knows when to sit back and relax😉

Been watching this kid fuck up for 40 odd years🙂

@majorrage They've got to bat three sessions and bowl us out in one?

That doesn't sound like the power is with them.

However, while we're anxiously sitting here with a modest lead of 32, spare a thought for our friend @newsjunkie, who's going to be behind his sofa sweating on his fear of 20/4! 🙂

Up since 4.30 am here, and the 1st session is going to be stressful for sure!

@damo hope it's boult. Rugby tenet. Earn the right to go wide, first. These openers have got us here. Jameson can wait. Patience and trust the processes that have worked

Lovely conditions for batting today. Going to have to work very hard for our wickets me thinks.

Or in boxing terms let the jab make room for the power punches

Yes indeed. Though it does appear India are looking to score some runs.

    KJ bowling well.

But in cricket terms you open with the player most likely to take wickets.

I love Boult, but right now the man most likely to run through India is Jamieson.

Yeah, I meant this morning, not open with the new ball (though that time may come).

@damo agreed mate. There'll be some ball analysis and complex bowling and fielding plans at play too. Jamieson's early inswingers possibly pointing to that👍
