    That was incredible to watch.

The best thing is we won against the other best team in the world.

We needed luck to beat Aussie in the WC final as they were the better team and we didn’t, obviously. I can hand on heart say that we are the better team in this championship and it was skill not luck that got us the win.

you make one nice comment about the spirit of the game and all of a sudden a bunch of Indian cricket fans follow your twitter account - I see a lot of unfollows very quickly when they find out just how boring I am.

If you remove the rain breaks from that test, that is a legitimate 8 wicket win inside three and a half days.

I don't think there is any suggestion India batted more aggressively today to force a result is there?

Indian Cricket fans are both insane and wonderful.

Was in New York for a business conference in pre-internet days and my Indian colleagues found out I could get BBC World Service cricket commentary on my shortwave radio from my hotel room (they were playing England, I think).

We all got pissed on Champagne in my room (which they insisted on buying) listening to the radio and playing a version of T20 with cush-balls and a squash racquet.

We sure did. India didn't prepare in the conditions in the same way that we didn't prepare for Australia. It's swings and roundabouts, but in the end you can't argue with the quality of the NZ bowling who carried us there.

Getting an Indian batting collapse this morning was the only pathway to victory for us, and we were good enough to do it. That, and our fielding was far superior.

So so stoked right now, this is pretty memorable

I went to sleep after we cleaned them up, so this was an excellent result to wake up to.

There's something quintessential and very fitting about the Black Caps winning off the back of Kane and Ross putting on an unbeaten partnership when the innings was looking a bit shaky.

Top work from the team, including the Fern of course, and great to finally win a cricket world championship.

Celebrating in London with a bottle of champagne. Can’t quite believe we are now cricket world champions. I’m the purest form of the game no less.

I always thought we would/should win this - based on venue, seam attacks, dukes ball, build up matches, having a great side etc.

Hard to have the same conviction at 2 down today but you have to have faith in our captain and 2 all time highest runscorers.

    Which I did.

After the World Cup final in 2019, I just though that NZ aren’t meant to win these kind of things, that the cricketing gods won’t allow it.

But here we are, taking all the experience, pain and learning from the last 2 final defeats and slowly building a wonderful side in the process to banish that pain and emerge, quite emphatically, as test world champions.

What a team, what a group of cricketers and coaches to make this happen!

So proud of them and NZ cricket right now. Enjoy this guys, as it won’t get any better than this👍
