Black Summer
Holy shit, how good is this show ? It’s like Walking Dead on steroids ( running zombies are so much scarier ). I love the fast edits and totally relentless nature of it, I just nailed the whole first season over a couple of nights. Even the potential future Mrs MN5 is enjoying it and she hates those shows usually.
Season 2 up tomorrow, will be interesting how they keep it fresh, I also bear in mind TWD was awesome for about five or six seasons before turning to shit.

I thought that was the whole idea and part of the underlying humour in the storyline

I remember reading one about "The Mule" - some guy with psychic powers, who therefore fucks up the predictions, or something?
How many are there - is it a trilogy, then some sequels, and prequels, written later? Are they all worth reading, or just the original trilogy? Are they all Asimov, or what? Come on people, help me out here - I could have googled all this in the time it took to ask these questions here. -

The original 3 have prequels and sequels. If you remember the Mule you’ve read at least the 2nd in the trilogy, maybe the 3rd. He was the mutant who fucked with people’s heads. At least, unlike GoT, you know the writers actually have a complete story arc to use. They aren’t exactly hard to read, but they are pretty uncompromising. Asimov doesn’t do McGuffins or dei ex machina, he has thought all of it through and expects you to be able to make the links that are needed in series with a huge cast and scope.

Cheers. I think it was the 2nd one I read - as a kid. I remember realising after I'd started that it wasn't the first in a series. And maybe reading some of the later ones?
I've downloaded the whole series now, and might give it another go.
I seem to recall that yeah - Asimov is never exactly "spell it all out for you" kinda guy - but a teenage me was able to follow the concepts, and do I have a vague recollection that maybe in the later ones - even cringe a little bit at some preachiness?
Edit: to be fair, thinking about it - teenage pre-booze me was probably smarter than old alcoholic me. -

US one i mean...apparently theres another version over in the UK (they always steal the good ideas from the States)I thought maybe it was new but a quick look on wiki and it first aired in 2005!...cant have been popular if its been around that long and no one told me about it...
Anyways just a couple episodes in, quite funny...the fact i work in an office on my own means i dont relate to it at all...
Id give anything to have a Pam here alongside me though, shes cute...i could be wrong but i think she and Jim have a thing going...Will give it a crack and see if it continues to grow on me. The diversity episode was piss funny..

I just recently did an entire series watch for the first time. Oddly I had never seen it considering I've watched pretty much everything that stemmed from it - Parks n Rec, B99, The Good Place, Master of None, Upload ....
I think it got better once it moved away from the UK office storylines and characterisations in S2. I think they better suit an American show.

Michael Scott just has to be one of my all time favourite characters in any comedy show, and Dwight.
