@daffy-jaffy doesn't look great as he should've gone lower but I'm not convinced that the ref was in a good position to see the "tackle" let alone the point of impact.

But as a defender with no TMO to help you, make a tackle like that at your peril.

@daffy-jaffy The footage isn't great (can't see whether he's trying to wrap his right arm) but I agree with @antipodean, he probably should have gone lower. However, I have more problems with what he does after that hit, when his opponent is still recovering. Can't say for sure, but it looks like he's punching the back of his opponent's head. That's what the players in red responded to.
