Isn't anyone wondering when the team will be named?

Think they are still trying to find people to make up numbers for the Tonga team. Club rugby could be short a few come sat arvo

Just imagine Foster's game plan and coaching being so shit that the AB's DON'T put a cricket score on Tonga ...

Now that might be a way to get him fired! Without that, I'm pretty sure his contract extension until 2023 is already a done deal!

Even with him in charge of the coaching the opening partnership should still exceed one hundred without loss before stumps. Without Foster that mark would probably be reached by the lunch break.

Fozzie and the boys may as well try and break the record, is it still 102-0 ?

145-17, or Oz got 142-0, that'll be challenging

Was just referring to their best ever against Tonga, lets not get carried away. In saying that I’m sure Bridge will run in a few Caleb Ralph specials and get selected for the big games.

Jacobson was packing down at 6 in the footage I saw of scrum drills.

The main interest to me in the first team naming will be the loose forward combo and who plays in the back three. I expect a different team next week.

@bovidae that would mean Fozzie fave Frizzell will be on the bench if Jacobson is at 6.

@taniwharugby Is Frizell fit again? I mentioned when the AB squad was announced that Plumtree said he liked Jacobson as a 6.

Yes it is. That was the game in Albany in 2002 which was shown on Sky Sport 1 earlier this week. Other scores that I can recall are
2019 NZ 92 - 07 Tonga (NZ played with 14 for the last 15 mins)
                        2003 NZ 91 - 07 Tonga
                        2011 NZ 41 - 10 Tonga

It was 2000 (Doug Howlett's debut from memory).

ABs also played Tonga in the 99 RWC (45-9 ABs). I remember there being a lot of borderline tackles (even for those days) by the Tongans that day who were looking to unsettle Jonah and co.

The Chiefs were on to something by selecting Kapeli as a lock. 🙂

Isn't anyone wondering when the team will be named?

Is that the same Tau Koloamatangi that props for Hong Kong?

I mentioned in the sevens thread that the Aust officials for this test might not be able to leave Qld. WR have updated their match appointment list.

                                          Referee: Ben O'Keeffe (NZR)
Assistant Referee 1: Paul Williams (NZR)
Assistant Referee 2: Brendon Pickerill (NZR)
                                          TMO: Glenn Newman (NZR)

Williams and Pickerill are also listed to be the ARs in the Maori vs Manu Samoa game.
