@kirwan use your eyes mate, he only hit him in the jaw because the Frenchy was ducking. Needs to be some common sense here.

That appalling baby faced Nine commentator who apparently heads up the crew starts after the half time advertisements with:

"So much to get through this half time"

and then goes on and on and on for another two minutes talking about nothing in particular before referring a question to a talking head who actually played the game! Aaarrgggh!

I will if you use your brain.

He had plenty of time to go low, didn’t, and hit a player in the head. Stupid.

SBW trying to justify high shots perhaps remembering his role in the drawn Lions series from 2017?

He flatly said his high shot was worse.

SBW should be seen but not heard. Hopeless.
Campo looking ancient. Guess he’s getting on.

Old man looks old…amazing insight 😉

    I’m here all night!

@act-crusader his head was coming down. Anyway who cares about the slow motion replay, I think that’s where the refs get it so wrong, there is no factoring in that players literally have a split second to make a decision. Because there was no malice it should no way be a red card. Penalty at the very most IMO.

There is no leeway for being reckless.

The main problem is the lack of the 20 minute red card.

It wasn't reckless. He came in to make a big ribs shot and jelonch bent and he happend to hit him high. What are players supposed to do?

Or do you want to take the big hits out of the game?...

I want players to avoid what’s happened to Steve Devine after they finish playing.

Agreed. This is a serious issue for World Rugby and they're very aware of the legal ramifications they could encounter later on.

Which is why I'm puzzled the French 8 wasn't automatically sent for an HIA.

And did they have to do it right behind Dave giving his speech to the team

I'm all for the red if first contact is on the head. But was it? All the angles I saw showed first contact with the shoulder, and then a glancing blow to the head.

There was at least enough doubt to suggest a YC would have been a more appropriate sanction.

But it seems the refs are so fucken keen to pull out a red these days.

That was also good captaincy from Hooper to bring it up. Seems calm out there and working hard to keep his team in it.

@kirwan how much time do you think he has? The guy is running full tilt, his head is down when he’s making the tackle and he only makes contact with the head because the French player is leaning into the tackle which I’ve already mentioned.

There are too many mitigating factors for it to be a red card, end of.

Has someone told the French Aussie are missing a winger? They’ve not exploited that at all

French forwards being made to work hard in attack because the halfback doesn’t trust the backs!
