The harness market to US is firing up again, due to the NZD weakening against the USD, but the hardest part for the horses is the trip. From what I'm told by a bloodstock agent, the regular flight to the States is: Christchurch-Auckland-Sydney-Shanghai-Anchorage-JFK and horses can't disembark unless it's their end destination.

No arm rest fights
No trips to the toilet
No reclining hassles
Food'd be the same
No Chinese passengers getting their bags from overhead as the plane touches down
 
 
Clear turbulence when the plane drops a few hundred feet might be nasty though

Just realised there could be some confusion - when Hooroo said 2+3 was heading to Japan, he meant jockey Mark Du Plessis . . .

Had an $11/$3 winner come in today as it was a horse we agisted on the farm. Ran in Aussie. 
Led from the front and on the bit on the turn when rest of field were off trying to circle. 
Let go and teared them up. Very impressive.

Imposing Lass won again...shame I only had a multi for her to win and Peaky to place

Imposing lass saved my punting day as I was doing hopeless. Du Plessis even said he fucked up the race. Had the run and didn't come out when he should have. He was surprised back runner won. Disappointed with result but not disappointed by horse. He ran huge at end. He will stay by the looks.

Barnaby has drawn barrier 7 for The Cambridge Breeders Stakes at Te Rapa on Saturday.
 
This is the true litmus test for him as he is up against NZ's best 3 year olds. Xtravagant will be short favourite I imagine.
 
Will be a bit of fun if we win.

I will be gobsmacked if they remain that high (or increase) I have just put my bet on now and I think he is worth a bet. Expecially at $5 a place.

I'm starting to get super excited about this which is ridiculous as Xtravagant is an exceptional horse, aong with a few others in a race and we have won a maiden and a rating 65 ha ha!
 
I have had a look at the times the competition have run at 1200 and Barnaby heads them all I think and his times are on a slow track where some of their win times have been on a good track. ( I rushed it a bit but I think I am right in saying that)
