i always find it funny, and i know its not as simple as this, but Daniel Lienert-brown players for Canterbury and the Highanders but Bower plays for Otago and the Crusaders

The difference might be that DLB is actually from Christchurch, while Bower is from Wellington.

Looking at the Cantab squad it's interesting not to see Owen Franks in the squad. I believe he's back in New Zealand so maybe he will suit up for Wellington or another province in the Canes catchment...

Naholo admitted he approached Taranaki, who he played 35 games for between 2011 and 2019, before signing with Canterbury.

“It came around real quick [the deal]. I didn’t get much interest from anywhere else,” he said.

“I obviously asked there first. I’m from up there. I was keen to go back there, but they’ve got a good crew up there already.

must have been his pay as much as anything, Canterbury dont need to take a gamble, they must think they can get his knee right

@mikey07 Armstrong plays on the opposite side of the scrum to Franks so not sure him leaving will necessarily mean Franks has signed.
