Jack Debreczeni is a massive pick up for Canterbury,can see him being the back up to Mounga in the Crusaders..would have loved to have seen Jack back at the Taniwha but happy to see him back in NZ Rugby ..a class act on the field and a good bugger off it as well.

Sounds like Southland have signed young Otago winger Michael Manson.
Paul Dwyer mentioned it on the ODT rugby chat.
He is very quick.

Manson played for the NZ U20s against the Cook Islands. I watched him live for the NZ Schools Barbarians in 2019, and he was very fast. Got promoted to the NZ Schools squad for their game against Aust a few days later.

certainly on paper looks like someone Otago could/should have kept in house and developed

There just wasn't any space for him in the squad. Going to Southland doesn't mean he can't come back. I'd much rather see him go, rack up 10 games, become a better player and then return than sit as squad number 31 and not get a game.
As for TUJ. He would have been set to have a massive season. I just hope he doesn't bulk up again! I think 113kg is certainly enough.
