The music I have been subjected to in the last month has made my ears bleed. We have 2 young people at work now and we all take turns with the Spotify. So much pop!
I can listen to some of it. I like hip-hop and rnb, even some new stuff like Cautious Clay, Doja Cat and some other young people stuff. But all the rap now is whiney bitches with Auto tune. My boss is 7 years older than me and all he wants is UK house music from the late 90s.
Ive to get them to listen to some Stevie Wonder and some funk. Prince went well.
Love me some afrobeats and Reggaeton. Both are starting to get big.

@mikethesnow The beat / backing is obviously awesome, but I still reckon Chuck D and FF have a top quality vocal combination. Chuck D's takes me back 25 years every single time. Love it.
Although there is some profanity in their lyrics, they are much better for not going down that route.

I listen to a London online radio station called Totally Wired Radio quite a bit. Once a month their main man (Eddie Piller) joins a mate after a boozy lunch and they do a show called Organised Confusion (otherwise known as Hiphop for dads).
As the title suggests there is loads of proper old school. The co presenter used to run London’s specialist Hiphop record shop and has amazing knowledge and supply.

Decided to finally figure out who this rapper "Eyedea" was, as he's name-checked in a Run-The-Jewels song... and discovered he was part of the RhymeSayers Entertainment crew, and did plenty of collaborations with Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, and that sort of thing.
This "rap-super-group" has been my working soundtrack for the last couple of days:
