my understanding is that we have to get top two best time amongst the the other six that aren't in the final. Danish would not have posted a time with only two finishing.

Commentators were saying the Brit who peeled off had kept riding, while the weakest Dane stopped. That happened - though these two commentators seem particularly clueless, so I doubt they're much of a source.

I don't suppose the re-ride rule that gave the Aussies a second chance applies when they're racing?

based on what they were saying a while back the crash thing only applies to an equipment failure rather than rider error so they're fucked.
