CF Jr's old sensei did a demo of one of the basic kata. Amazing when you pair two people in a fight situation and see what the kata can actually do

CF Jr's old sensei did a demo of one of the basic kata. Amazing when you pair two people in a fight situation and see what the kata can actually do
@canefan my sensei won the Aussie kumite championships as a brown belt. Complete weapon, but didn't look like anything but a happy-go-lucky middle aged bloke with a bit of a paunch. He went half speed on me once after I'd been doing it a few years (almost had my people belt) and I felt like I'd just walked in.

@canefan my sensei won the Aussie kumite championships as a brown belt. Complete weapon, but didn't look like anything but a happy-go-lucky middle aged bloke with a bit of a paunch. He went half speed on me once after I'd been doing it a few years (almost had my people belt) and I felt like I'd just walked in.

I kind of wish I had started when CF Jr did. There were other adults in his class. But sensei would have kicked my arse, he delighted in using the adults for throwing practice. Here come the men's kumite medal bouts. I'd love to see them totally throw down

@canefan I did it out of curiosity and having something to do with the Boy. He only joined because a mate was doing it, then the mate quit because he was a little smart arse

Similar to mine! Did it for 4 years. Spent so much time watching, should have joined in. Just seen my first leg sweep!
