Things get even worse as the 'Naki boot over another penalty (the seventh they have been awarded so far) for three more points.

@tj But the ref did. By referring it is a clear indication the he saw the grounding. WHy the need to refer it if he allegedy saw a grounding. PLayers do not usually blow up against refs decisions without good reason.

I think he assumed it was grounded, then the players blew up at him so he thought he'd check... He definitely was not confident he saw it grounded.

Pies need to adjust to his ruck reffing and just get numbers there, as the commentators note he awards the penalty even if the players aren't actually going for the ball.

I don't watch aerial ping ping so don't get the reference outside of Collingwood having the best uniform in the AFL. 😉

Maybe THAT'S why McLutchie didn't play Super....

A nice rearward penalty kick there by the Magpies as they set up for a lineout drive try. The TAB now have the 'Naki at $1.11 HB 1t $5.25, very tempting odds there! Nothing comes for the drive other than another two penalties and a couple more penalty advantages. The last comes to a try by L McLutchie. The conversion from out wide misses
                          Taranaki 19 - 05 HB after about 35 minutes

I think we also know why Enari doesn't get game time for the Crusaders. I think it's 4 passes to space so far. Hopefully we can fix him as the season goes on.

McClutchie is in for a try. Finally. Hopefully we'll start playing some decent footy now.

                                50/20 that's even stupider than a 40/20 - we're making league rules dumber.

Flanders in to close the gap right on halftime.

For a whistle happy ref, his judgement of these mauls leaves a lot to be desired.
