@kiwiwomble @Nepia Arrested is another I haven't seen, when you speak of the "original" is that the 2003 show I can see on Disney +?

I assume so as it was originally a Fox show … i guess Netflix didn’t buy up all the rights, just the rights to make new seasons.

Any instructions for this one then or can I just watch from the start?

Definitely watch from the start. Are you going to watch in tandem with Parks and Rec or when you’re done with it?

I was thinking about that earlier. Binge an entire show at a time, or a series at a time - or alternate a few episodes each
Lockdown is so confusing.

we watched the whole series last year during lockdown
so we watched it as 5 continuous seasons. what it really is is 3 seasons (2003-2006) and the it was canceled, Netflix bought the the rights and produced another 2 season (2013-2019) including a 10 year time jump
you could almost leave the Netflix seasons, they're different, thats just me though

I couldn't get through the first Netflix season, wasn't the same show to me, but those first three seasons are still brilliant.
I might try the Netflix seasons again with the new editing to see if that improves it.

@nepia I got through them....but definitely wasn't the same show, even with all the same cast, or maybe it was the same but was more jarring because you weren't watching a nearly 20 year old show, it was a recent show that was trying to have a 20 year old vibe, either way didn't work as well
have they re edited them? that could help, there was way to much recapping and cutting between storyline and time frames

They've re-edited the first one into one ongoing narrative as opposed to the focus on specific characters each episode.
