    @mikethesnow finished this.

    Dark, but worth the watch.

    I had thought things were going down another path...

    :::

    I thought Stagg's story about when he was young and killing a girl was true, just in another location, and he had done it with his cousin (who I thought would turn out to be Napper)

    I thought that was how he knew how she was laying after she was killed, because Napper killed her, he was therebut didnt do it, and then when Napper killed that other girl and her daughter, it made you think it was Stagg who may have stopped him killing the kid previously.

    BUt obviously I over thought it!

    :::

    yeah i thought the same thing.. was a bit disappointed it didnt work out that way. On a different note the actor cast as Stagg was a deadringer for the real bloke they showed at the end

    @mikethesnow Not typically a fan of reboots, but I do like Don Cheadle's work and that looks pretty good to me.

    Besides, I hardly watched the original anyway.

    Sure to God they could have called it something else

    What’s next?

    A reboot of The Six Million Dollar Man, starring 50 cent?

    Have watched a few shows over the last few days for some reason……

    The Defeated

    Pretty decent, set in Berlin right after the war has ended with various underworld plots, etc. A nice mix of espionage and violence. Set up nicely for season 2….

    The Flight attendant

    Definitely made more watchable by the insanely hot chick from the Big Bang Theory, a bit of a whodunnit, she finds herself in a tough situation and has to cope from there. Only two episodes in, should finish the whole thing in a day or two.

    Vigil had its first episode available to stream in Australia last night. This BBC 6 part mini series has only 6 episodes and after watching the first, I am now annoyed I will have to wait for the remaining 5. Believe writers from Line of Duty were involved (could be wrong, havent done any due diligience but seem to remember reading something like that), as well as starring martin compston.

    A good start and very watchable. Spoilers from the first episode so wont say anything.

    Think this would be best binged watched back to back from what I have seen so far..

    You are getting it close behind release by the looks. The second ep has only just shown this morning (NZT) in the UK.

    If the show is done to support watching as a serial it can be a good thing to have to wait. Mare of Easttown and Line of Duty always had episode endings that set you up for anticipation and that was a good thing.

    We mentioned 'Deceit' above which was released week by week on TV in the UK and on streaming in NZ but the whole series was available on C4s platform from the start.I find that a bit weird tbh.

    Episode 2 will be available here today and then its week to week..so we must be following the UK given what you have said.. given we havent had the final season of line of duty, I suspect programmers are admitting they may have f$$ked up underestimating the audience for this and jumped on what they hope will be the next thing.

    Good start anyway

    BTW it is a Jed Mercurio production so except a ridiculous 'twist'. As long a you go in with eyes open it won't be as disappointing.

    @bayimports I saw that pop up yesterday, could be good.

    Anyone looked at The Empire?

    Has potential, Historical Fiction based on the books Empire of the Moghul by Alex Rutherford, that I have read a couple of (being slated on IMDB, although possibly more due to the historical aspect, although comments re poor SFX too)

    Excellent start to Vigil

    We had two episodes back to back here because it was a Bank Holiday weekend

    I still find 'Bank Holiday' such an odd term. Like it's only the banks on holiday? Or you all get a holiday because the bank says so?

    Initially it was just banks etc that closed back in the 1800s, the name stuck even when it started to apply more widely

    Confirmed by Justwatch. Prime is the place to stream, other avenues have the series to purchase.

    @Nevorian justwatch.com is a useful site/app to track down shows. You can change your country as well to see if it is streaming elsewhere and use VPN

    Another watching Vigil, I enjoy it, but I struggle to let go of the plausibility at times with many of these cop shows. But it is a well made, well acted mystery with twists and turns, very similar to line of duty. Have to say it was funny seeing Podrick from GOT playing the bad guy.
