    Well, we've equaled 26...

For all that the pitch is playing slow, some of the dismissals have been a little bit soft. CdG predictably slogging out, and a couple playing back when they might have gone forward.

Once again no Ross Taylor in the T20 squad. Meanwhile the fringe players and newbies have all but struggled with which end of the bat to hold...

Not sure if the pitch is nightmare or we are playing poor cricket. Commentators on cricinfo seem a bit split as well.

Ajaz coming in at 9 is not good, I know this is the B but what are the selectors thinking?

Sure enough he's now made it 52/8....

They need at least 9 more runs:

That's a really weak team we've put out there, little wonder we are struggling. They are pretty tough to beat in the shorter forms in their own conditions.

A grim looking squad. Short of Finn Allen making a miraculously fast recovery, or swapping in Scott Kuggeleijin for one of the tail, there's no other batting depth to bring in. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/new-zealand-in-bangladesh-2021-1272089/new-zealand-t20i-squad-1272732/series-squads

60 all out. Let's hope the White Ferns put up a better fight against England at 5am...

Bangladesh 1/1 in the second over. McConchie with a much happier debut with the ball.

    Comprehensively smashed, Bangles 62/3.

Regardless of team, this really is one of our most embarrassing results ever. That team is the Black Caps, not Black Caps A.

Not sure that's the case after Australia's specialists got absolutely smoked by them. They are really really good in home conditions, very hard to beat.

If we were serious about this (and I don't think we were), a few weeks of warmup would be needed to really get to grips with their pitches. But we're not, it's a cash grab, like most T20.

Still embarrassing, but not our most embarrassing

Its embarrassing all right but also the nature of touring bangledesh at the moment. They made a mess of Aus 4-1, are match hardened and playing at home on some pretty shonky pitches. And then we send a B team over in disguise and call them the Black Caps.

We are probably lucky its not shown on sky here

It’s only 20/20 and Bangladesh were at home and they’re not a bad team.

We’ll absolutely fuck them up in the important cricket here later this year.

Hmmmmm as if to completely contradict my earlier post I looked closer and I see Blundell, Young, Latham and Nicholls were all playing ? That’s not ideal given they’re all established ( or soon to now that Watling has gone ) Black Caps.

None of them are in the T20 world cup team are they? Don't get me wrong, some of them should have put up more of a fight, and they'll get there chance with all games in the series apparently at the same venue...

The mystery of Doug Bracewells selection rears its head too……

No warmup in covid times, too hard.

They don't really do warm ups, anyway, even in normal times.

You're absolutely right, even for marquee test matches in Perth. FFS. I'm still bitter, it keeps me warm in winter
