@machpants Africa became very popular through club re-edits and remixes. Used as a closer by a lot of popular DJs.

@tim Weezer also covered Africa and Rosanna, which I believe gave the song a bump in popularity.

@tim Have you listened to the early Queen albums like Queen II? There are heaps of great songs outside of the hits.

Queen ( like Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles ) play boring, “safe” music everyone has heard a million times ( just cos everyone knows all the words doesn’t make it a great song ) that you put on at a barbie cos you know no one will be offended by it. Well, unless that person actually has their own opinions on music anyway.

You know people who you meet and ask what they listen to and they say “aw, well anything really”.

Those are people who like Queen and the other two bands I mentioned.
