I reckon they should have at least 1 tournament where shouting and booing is encouraged, even during a shot. Call it the Happy Gilmore Open or something. Would be great fun to see them cut loose and rark the crowd up, give each other some shit even.

I see the NZ Open has been cancelled for 2021. That sucks! We sponsor it and it is a good jolly down there!

Whistling Straits is a beast. Would like to play it just to be humbled.

The US in total command according to the scoreboard. Stricker's decision to opt for in form youth and to leave Reed out seems to be paying off

                      I think it’s brilliant.

It was really bad in the late afternoon yesterday. Just watched for a little bit this afternoon and the crowd seemed better behaved. I don't mind parochialism. But there is a degree of courtesy you expect in golf

I agree with the disrespect in the players backswing but otherwise it is the Ryder Cup so I’m sure the Euros are equally as vocal. No more boorish than hearing the Haka ad nauseam.

@broughie I'm yet to see a kiwi do the haka on a golf course during general play. 😉

@taniwharugby true but they do it everywhere else. It loses it luster, at least for this foreign Kiwi.

@broughie oh I agree but I think US fans (at least in golf) have always been louder than other fans, but cheering and stuff is better than the old polite golf clap.

USA gave Europe a smashing to win back the Ryder Cup this morning. Stricker went for youth and form, left out the unpopular Patrick Reed, and came up trumps

The scoreline really went according to world rankings. Europe have 4 in the top 20, Rahm at 1, Hovland 14, McIlroy 15, Hatton 19.

The USA team was 2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,13,16,21. So 10 of the 12 players are higher than all but 1 in the opposition.

Give them home advantage and a course that suits their superior power and 19-9 seems about right as a margin of victory.

I tried all weekend to get excited about a comeback but after the first morning you could tell it was going to be a runaway victory.

Loooove the emotion McIlroy showed in his interview. Full of tears. It really does appear to mean a lot to the Euros!
