The whole season looks pretty open in the early stages. So probably Tom Brady wins the Superbowl

The Bucs secondary are banged up, so no surprises Stafford had a good game. I think I saw Devin White playing CB lol
What are the odds the Bucs will find money to sign Sherman?

    Rams definitely the favourites now.

Chiefs and Bucs won't be too worried though. Bucs had so many players out, who will highly likely be back for the playoffs, and the Chiefs won't be turning the ball over like that every game.

The Seahawks will be extremely worried though. Currently 1-2 and they haven't played a division game. They have the 9ers and Rams next, RIP.

PS: The stadium looked like something from a movie.

    Terrific game Packers vs 49ers.

49ers are a decent team but they aren't as good as the 2019 team.

The defence is weaker. They conceded a bunch of penalties that cost them the game. Rodgers showed why he is one of the greats, pulled out the win at the death

    Sounded fun.

I watched the Chiefs (Mahomes played pretty well - receivers dropped a shedload of ball), and then the absolute grudge match Steelers Bengals. Was good fun - just two teams that hate each other bludgeoning each other. Big Ben looks cooked - some great throws, but a bunch of rubbish as well, and no mobility.

This season looks very open all of a sudden. Hard to pick obvious SB contendors.

a win at the death? The Packers were behind on the scoreboard for like 30 seconds. And in all honesty, you give Rodgers 40-odd seconds to get a field goal i reckon he gets it 9 times out of 10.

Watched the whole of the Rams v Bucs game, it was bloody good. Stafford didn't start well, but once he got going was excellent (as mentioned in commentary, he wouldn't be used to such high-interest games, especially in round 3!).

Brady is still the fucking man though, it looked for a while like he was going to be able to do it. But his go to is still Gronk, and Gronk runs like he's 55 all of a sudden.

Both teams will be there at the pointy end.

Well they did win at the death, after the 9ers almost stole it from them....

I'm watching MNF bit with the Mannings talking about it

And now we have Matthew Stafford on, and it's fucking interesting listening to 3 QBs breaking down a game.

Weird without commentary but some great insight. Even more than Romo because they don't have to talk about every play

Brady recruits Sherman, who signs for a 1 year deal.

    Pretty funny after their history.

It's amazing how quickly things can change. 49ers season looks toast. A team that's constantly injured isn't going to go far. They had to play without a kicker today.

On the positive side at least Lance got some playing time - at this point I think they are better off just rolling with Lance the rest of the season and get his rookie lumps out of the way. Jimmy G these days is very limited - he only throws to the middle of the field short and intermediate and his accuracy isn't even that good.

They have had a bad couple of years injury wise. Not sure if it's the way they play, or just luck

It's a combination of things. The style they play, the type of players they sign/draft (a lot of injury prone players) and a poor training staff.

They need to move Jimmy and his salary on. Then build through the draft again. The window shut pretty fast.

Just watched Bucs Pats. Good fun game in the wet. Mac Jones looks a real talent - very solid, good work. Just not quite enough to get over the line against a very very good defence and Tom Brady.

Belichek always manages to coach a good defence tha tbuilds through the year - they could well be in the mix at the end of the season if they can burgle a wildcard berth.

@nzzp It was a good week for rookie QBs.

Cowboys and Cardinals look like two NFC teams that will make the playoffs are missing out last year - both continue to impress.

Raiders - Chargers tomorrow in LA should be fun - given the history of the Raiders in LA expect a heavy Raiders presence in the new stadium

Well Russell Wilson's streak of consecutive starts ends at 149. Out for 4 to 8 weeks with a ruptured tendon in. His hand.

He's a super tough guy so normally you'd think he'd be on the shorter side of that projection but it's his throwing hand so if he has issues gripping the ball might need the full recovery time.

The Seahawks look like they're in trouble. Their offence is basically built on Wilson making off schedule plays and their defence has had an awful start to the season. They're in the toughest division in football and there's a real link that in 8 weeks time they're out of the prayaff race, and then have to decide whether to start him in meaningless games.

Their schedule is at least relatively friendly for the next few weeks, with an underperforming Steelers, the Jags making a strong push for being the worst team in football and a bye. If Wilson does make it back in four weeks they might have only lost one game in his absence.

The Jamal Adams trade probably has to go down as one of the worst trades in recent memory. Not only did they give up two firsts, but they gave him 75m and he was brutally exposed in coverage. Be interesting to see if they try to get him blitzing more to hide him in coverage. If Wilson is out for 8 weeks and their season tanks so they have to give up a top ten pick that will just be the icing on the cake.

TNF was actually not bad - with a couple of decent teams.

That said, Seattle could now be a dumpster fire with RW out. Geno Smith wasn't bad, but no one is going to extend a play like Russ.

Seems like lots of decent teams playing at the moment. Very few terrible teams as well... even the Browns aren't too bad!

So much for a 10 year deal. Jon Gruden resigns as raiders coach. Honestly I think he has used the latest media coverage of some incredibly tasteless but not particular severe comments to get out of dodge because that raiders team isn't going anywhere near a Superbowl any time soon.

Gruden is an overrated coach anyway. Dungy deserved the credit for the Bucs SB win.
