@nepia I watched True Romance a couple of months ago for the first time in over 20 years. It has aged very well IMHO

It was a who's who of big stars, and stars to be

@mn5 love the Sicilian, Hopper and Waalkens rocked. The Brad Pitt cameo was also excellent and the Gandolfini Arquette scene was brutal

@mn5 I broke up with a girl years ago and took it hard, used to play the Dire Straits track a lot alone in my room. Dusty

I love that track. Dire Straits are a funny one for me, I mean I’m sick to death of all the ubiquitous shit I hear on the radio ( in some ways they are the very definition of boring middle aged rock ) but Knopfler can fucken play like no one else.

I’ll save the “ this song makes me think of a particular chick” for another thread 😉

I agree, they never had the cool factor. But as you say, Knofler can hang with the best of them

Also, I know this runs into a non-instrumental but I’ve loved this since our music teacher played it to us in 1973 when it had just been released.

Most will say Orion but this is my favorite Metallica. Takes me back to a great time of life.

    Some goodies so far.

I could pick any Satch song but this has always been a favourite

A B-side from Dream Theater, and not their typical instrumental

Is it uncool to mention the Weather Report?
And if so - I'll throw in an album I stumbled across recently:

Also - Khruangbin... 95% of their stuff is instrumental, so that counts, right?
And - their bassist gives me the biggest of horns.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - bassists with vaginas... phwooooarrrr... gets me everytime.

@bones I had a girlfriend who loved that movie, thankfully that track is great - I don't know how many times I've watched it. Basil Poledouris' work is good too.

My favourite Metallica instrumental has always been The Call of Ktulu

Patton is the star of FNM but by fuck the rest of the boys could rock too. That Bass is off the hook.

Banger of a track from a brilliant band.
