agree with you about the dragon although they could technically argue its not in the same realm.
I'm not a fantasy dude, Game of Thrones would have been an all time great show without the dragons.

@nepia so you are ok with the undead, raising people from the dead and seeing things through the eyes of a raven, but you draw the line at dragons...
I draw the line at all fantasy, the dragons was my stand in for all the fantasy aspects of the show. I will be more specific next time.

..There were some great British Sci Fi films in the 50' s about a rocket scientist, Bernard Quatermas, written by Nigel Kneale which were years ahead of their time and still really watchable. Quoted as hugely influential by the likes of Spielberg and Ridley Scott.
I loved Quatermas! Spooked by it too.

@bayimports I thought the opposite, Liu and Awkafina were perfect casting. What is weird is that I didn't realise Liu wasn't Korean even though my Korean friend told me his Korean was terrible in the odd times he spoke it in the show.
I probably agree with your rating, would have probably given higher if not for the ...
SPOILER COMING, STOP READING IF YOU DON"T WANT THE ENDING PARTIALLY SPOILED. ALSO WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SPOILER FUNCTION?

The bit that annoyed me was how often the main dude sat back and watched - when he was riding the friendly dragon as it had it's soul sucked out of it, he just watched. Then when his old man was getting fcked up - he just sat there and watched again - dude, come on!
Also, why have a dragon if all it can do its make waves - shouldn't dragons be able to make fire now and again???
But agree, all-in-all, was fun, kids loved it too

@nepia Well, you live in a country with bearded dragons.

ha ha I agree with all of that and that his dad lived for over a 1000 years and still died while wearing rings that supposedly kept him immortal... -

I was really into 50's and 60's films after being given a copy of Scorceses's History of Cinema and discovered Nigel Kneale from an interview with Spielberg.
His themes are truly scary, original and based in the day to day which makes them very unnerving. If you can find a copy, check out The Stone Tape - awesome.

Gunpowder Milkshake - cool movie, as others have mentioned, in the John Wick style, except with female leads.

to be honest mate its a bit f*ked up (and we all are in our own way).. lol, but in a movie about immortality, soul eaters, some half bird/pig thing with no head, a planet where they had the blip.. you just didnt like the dragon..thats going to get comments

@nepia You're commenting on a Marvel movie. You regularly contribute to the DCEU / Star Wars and Marvel threads. But
you're not a fantasy dude
What you are is in denial
Jesus, this is a thread full of pedants. I don't like fantasy as a genre in the old way it was understood - LOTR, Game of Thrones etc. Hard fantasy as a definition maybe?
But, I like stuff with a fantastical element like all that stuff you mentioned.
I like and dislike what I like and dislike. Apparently here's no rhyme or reason to do it. (Is that the saying or did I just make that up?)

@nepia You want pedant. I'll give you peak pedant.
Rhyme or reason has been around since the 15th century. It was first used in it's most common form by Nicolas Udall who wrote the first comedy in the English language.
As with most aphorisms though it is Shakespeare who made it popular using it in both Comedy of Errors and As You Like it.
I never thought I would get to use my Middle English education, especially on the fern
