Counterpart
Into ep. 4 of the first series. Might just be the best thing I've watched for years.

Great show, but just as an FYI, the show got cancelled after S2.

ZeroZeroZero
Has anyone else watched this? A fortune was spent on the series as it was filmed on location in the USA, Italy, Mexico and Africa.
As this is an Italian production the series might be too slow for some as scenes are allowed to develop and breathe. It's got a lot of similarities to Traffic with multiple storylines that are intertwined. In this instance the production, transport and distribution of cocaine. Based on a book by the same author who wrote Gomorrah.

it was on sbs here in Oz, on my list but haven't got to it yet.. would be good to hear thoughts on this as well

@bayimports I enjoyed it. Only 8 episodes so not a huge investment of your time. Just be aware that all scenes in Italy and Mexico have subtitles.

The Chestnut Man
Danish crime mystery on Netflix. In the same sort of vein as True Detective but with a Scandi-noir feel.
Worth the watch if you're into this genre and foreign language shows. Especially if you liked The Bridge.

Saw most of it. Very nihilistic.
Couldn't sympathize much because they were all criminals. -

lol, tried the expanse got bored early and couldnt get back into it, eventhough a lot of people said stick with it
Narco's mexico I look forward too, curious to see what direction they go next, as in who becomes the main player
-
oh shit Narcos!
i watched the first season and never went back...
-
@mariner4life Yeah, the Expanse can be very slow, especially in the middle of a season, and they often cram all the plot in the last two episodes. It's okay overall though, and I find most TV series unmatchably dull now.
-
@mariner4life Narcos is good dude. Stick with it. Same producer/creator as the Brazilian Elite Squad movies.

Oh, I didn't realise they were making another season.
Sweet.

thats why im curious as to where they start this one from, as essentially the main cop went back to the states from memory..but perhaps they take in the el chapo direction?

IIRC, that's where it's going. May be wrong though!
-
@mariner4life The Elite Squad movies are some of the best fascist action/crime films I've seen.
